Expand Your Edges
Have you ever noticed a pattern in the way you create? While we claim we don’t want to paint inside the lines or create inside a box, it’s easy to get comfortable and quietly build our own box to play in. We reach for the same colors. Use the same products Create the same way It might feel like "your" style. And sometimes it is. But sometimes it’s a familiarity that boxes you in. Creative expansion doesn’t begin with blowing everything up and doing something completely out of the box. It simply begins with awareness. You can’t expand what you haven’t noticed yet. This week isn’t about changing your style. It’s about seeing it clearly. Is it a box of familiarity, or is it just because you finally found something that works? Your Creative Expansion Invitation: Create something in your natural, comfortable style. Yes, intentionally. As you create, pay attention to: • The colors you reach for first • Where you start • What you avoid • What feels automatic • What feels uncomfortable • What you love Optional Stretch: When you think you’re finished, add one small unexpected element. Just one.

Lies I Believed (and LOL Now)
At one point in my life, I believed... šŸ‘‰ I had to be consistent with one craft to be taken seriously šŸ‘‰ That creative people aren’t ā€œbusiness-mindedā€ šŸ‘‰ That I had to choose between being fun and being successful šŸ’€ LIES. All of it. I’ve burnt out trying to be polished. I’ve quieted my own brilliance to fit into someone else’s system. I’ve paused my magic waiting for a perfect plan. And the truth is? ✨ I’m most magnetic when I’m in my chaos. ✨ I’m most powerful when I’m playing. ✨ I don’t need to ā€œfitā€ someone else's strategy — I AM the strategy. The version of me that believed those lies? She was doing her best. But now? I laugh. I high-five her. I thank her. And then I leave her in the past. šŸ’¬ What’s a belief you once held that now makes you laugh a little? Or drop a šŸ’£ or GIF in the comments and I’ll pick one of my old lies to blow up tomorrow.

This post caught my eye. I have had a steady job as a hairstylist for almost 34 years now and I own my own salon. I have also done craft shows here for the past 17 years that I have lived in this small town (so everyone knows me). I have sold anywhere from home made items to direct sales. Since I have sold a variety of things in the past at shows it is almost embarrassing to me when people come by my both and say "What are you doing/selling this year!" IT happens every year. I realize I change my mind, I go with the flow, sometimes I follow the $ with direct sales and sometimes I follow my heart with crafts and it hurts my feelings when they say that. I know they don't mean any harm by it and I know it is a true statement (what am I doing now!) because I am constantly changing things. Now this year I am being crafty with the decoupage and stuff I have never done before so I am expecting these comments again. I guess I have not learned yet how to embrace them and let people think whatever and just be me. I can be a complex personality sometimes. I am working on it. I usually just say "I wear many hats". One thing though, I am always happy with what I am selling or making and peoples opinions don't change the fact that I am going to do it, they just hurt my feelings for a bit lol. Anyway thanks for letting me share.

@Kelly Huskins Thank you or your post and your response. It's nice not feeling alone in that matter! I like your response to people. I will have to remember that, or to say "Whatever makes me happy" and let it go.

I think it looks nice, but you could always add in a little of the purple if you wanted at the top.
