As I looked at the news and social media this morning, my spirit became deeply disturbed. It breaks my heart to see so many people who are hurting, lost, insensitive, lacking compassion, and without self-respect. The enemy is truly deceiving many, for the Word says that he comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But as the people of God, we have a responsibility. We are called to disciple, to love, to pray, and to reach the lost. We do not have time to waste. It is so important that we remain obedient to the assignment God has given each of us. We are living in the last days, and this morning God led me to scripture and reminded me that people’s lives are dependent on our obedience. Let us not be distracted, silent, or fearful. Let us be willing vessels and shine the light of God everywhere we go. “You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!” 2 Timothy 3:1-5 NLT
