Sunday Parent Reset: One Lesson I Learned
When we're teaching life skills, it's easy to focus on whether something worked or didn't work. Did they complete the task? Did they need fewer prompts? Did we make progress? But every week teaches us something—even the difficult ones. Maybe they weren't ready for that nest step. Or that they needed an extra support for that next skill. Sometimes we learn that changing the timing, environment, or our own approach leads to better results. The biggest lesson? That tomorrow is another opportunity to try again. Every experience, whether it feels like a success or a setback, helps us better understand our child. This Week's Sunday Reflection: Share one lesson you learned this week. Maybe answer one (or all) of these: - What surprised you this week? - What strategy worked better than you expected? - What didn't work the way you hoped? - What's one thing you'll try differently next week? Remember that your child isn't the only one learning. We are learning and growing right beside them on this journey. Take a moment to remember that, give yourself some grace, and take a deep breath. We're all in this together. Share your lesson below and you might help another family discover something that works for them.
