"The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death." Proverbs 11:18-19 The Lord helped me greatly this morning. This morning, I woke up and I was tempted. I was tempted to be slothful, which then led to other temptations. While I laid in bed, the thoughts of the slothful man kept coming in my mind, while also thoughts of lusts came into my mind. I was so tired. I didnt want to get up. But the Lord reminded me, "As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed." -- Proverbs 26:14. I was turning over in my bed, but really, I was turning away from the Lord. Geez, I hate the way that sounds. I hate that that was true. I hate that I turned from the Lord all because I was physically tired. And as I turned from the Lord, I turned to the wicked. You see, the Lord already helped me realize how I walk with Him. Its like walking around your house backwards. Try it some time! The Lord helped me to realize that the way I am to walk with Him is by first facing Him, and then following His instruction on where to step. Stepping backwards. You see, the Lord will tell me where to step, and I will take that step, but the step is backwards. Backwards into my own darkness. You see, as I face the Lord, I face the Lord's light, and my back is to my own darkness. I no longer see my darkness. I see the Lord's light. I see the Lord. As I see the Lord, the Lord will tell me where to step. By His direction, I will step backwards into my own darkness, BUT, the Lord's light will shine where darkness use to be! As the Lord says, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." -- Psalm 119:105. The Lord also says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." -- John 1:1. As I follow the Lord, I follow the Lord's word. The Lord's word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path, which means, as I follow the Lord, the Lord's light will light my path! So even though I may step backwards into my darkness, the Lord's light shines on that step! And this is why, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." -- Psalm 23:4. Yea though I walk in the valley of shadow of death, I will fear no evil becausse the Lord is with me. The Lord is directing me. Even though the Lord is directing me into my darkness, the Lord is shining His light in my darkness so I can see the truth! So that what was once dark is now light! What was once old becomes new! As the Lord says, "And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful." -- Revelation 21:5. The Lord DOES make ALL things new; even my own darkness! And though I walk through my own valley of shadow of death, I will not fear evil because the Lord is with me, and the Lord is directing me. I just need to make sure I FACE THE LORD. As I face the Lord, my back will be to my darkness. Then I can step backwards, following the Lord's direction without looking at my fears; without looking at my darkness! THEN I WILL BE ABLE TO FEAR NO EVIL BECAUSE THE LORD IS WITH ME, AND I AM FACING THE LORD AND THE LORD'S LIGHT. When I look at the Lord and face the Lord's light, there is NOTHING TO FEAR! THANK YOU LORD!
