I'm going to be more daring. Do things I've always been afraid to do. This goes for personal as well as professional. Get out of my comfort zone. First goal, hit gym five days a week. Let's go 2025!!!
Day 1
It is horrible to say but I have not been in the gym since Covid kept us out. Throughout the Covid years my gym did not survive it's economic issues. Finally today the gym that moved in opened and I went back to workout plus signed myself up for a boxing basics class. Probably should have given joining that class a second thought but, I made it. I am so proud of myself, I did it!! I feel amazing. There was one point where I wanted to quit and go sit up against the wall but I was not giving up. The power from within is amazing. Will be continuing and it will be tough but no quitting here. Just not an option!

🛡BECOME STOIC🛡
Being Stoic refers to displaying calmness, emotional resilience, and self-discipline, especially in the face of adversity. It doesn’t mean being emotionless or indifferent but rather maintaining control over one’s reactions to challenges and focusing on what truly matters. Stoicism, as a philosophy, originated in ancient Greece and was developed by thinkers like Zeno of Citium, Epictetus, Seneca, and Marcus Aurelius. It teaches practical wisdom for achieving a fulfilling life by aligning thoughts and actions with reason and virtue. Stoicism emphasizes: 1. Control of Emotions: Recognizing that emotions arise from our judgments about events, not the events themselves. 2. Focus on What You Can Control: Distinguishing between what’s within our power (thoughts, actions) and what isn’t (others’ opinions, external events). 3. Living Virtuously: Prioritizing traits like wisdom, courage, justice, and self-restraint as the foundation of a good life. 4. Accepting Fate (Amor Fati): Embracing life’s challenges as opportunities to grow and accepting what cannot be changed with grace. In modern terms, Stoicism is a toolkit for building resilience, finding purpose, and achieving peace of mind in a chaotic world. It’s about thriving, not just surviving, by focusing on internal strength and external contribution.
