A question for you
Hi folks~ Working on some content ideas and I came across this question. What is something about health and fitness that you now know that you wished you had known years ago?

I really did not realize how many additional calories every day that I was consuming two months ago before I started this program. It has been rather eye-opening. And I’m talking about empty calories. Chips, bread, butter, salad dressing, etc. Salad dressing is loaded with calories and I guess I never paid much attention to that before. Now I just use straight balsamic which is maybe 15 cal versus 150 or 160 calories in salad dressing. I also stop and ask myself when I go for a snack if I am really hungry or am I bored. I am trying to make a conscious effort of the fats I am putting on my plate as well. In addition to having carbs two out of my three meals. If I already had it for breakfast and lunch, then I don’t need carbs for dinner. The other thing I learned is how important protein is. Some meals I think I still struggle to get enough but like everything else it’s a balancing act. I’m also trying to take pride in the non-scale victories. Because they are just as important. That’s really more than one thing but I couldn’t decide and pick just one.
A New Quest Drops in 5 Days!
Tales of goblins and ghouls have been in the air around Potsdam as Summer comes to a close. Will the Adventurers at Bjorn be ready for a new challenge? Heads up, this one will be FAR different from before and you're all going to love it!! More details to come~

@Krista Kelly thank you Krista!! Yes I have had veggies and hummus. I have never tried jicama. I’m not even sure I know what that is, but I think I’ve seen it in the grocery store and it looks like some kind of horseradish root or something. I would be interested to know how you prepare it or eat it. I have had roasted chickpeas with turmeric and some other spices, which were actually pretty good. I have never tried to kale chips. Thank you again for some of the ideas.

@Krista Kelly thank you!!!
A month in...
To everyone else working through this program with me: keep going. I know some days are harder than others. Some days you feel strong, and other days you wonder if you’re making any progress at all. But then you realize… you ARE. I can actually feel myself getting stronger. That feeling is everything. Don’t compare your progress to anyone else’s. Show up. Push yourself. Celebrate the little victories. Trust the process. I started this to become stronger, and I’m doing exactly that. One workout, one rep, one day at a time. 🏋️‍♀️❤️ Keep showing up, friends. We’ve got this!

Great inspiration Cindy. Thank you for sharing.
Sandy Maine!
Sandy started working out at Bjorn less than three weeks ago, and she’s already seeing some incredible progress! I caught up with her today and asked how she was feeling. She blew me away when she told me that her balance has noticeably improved and she feels more confident riding her bike. Then we took her measurements: Sandy is already down 2% body fat and has lost inches in nearly every measurement! Not even three weeks in, and she’s already seeing improvements that carry over well beyond the gym. Let’s give Sandy a well-deserved round of applause! 👏

I am new to the group and looking forward to prioritizing myself. Fun fact about me: I have been skydiving and I have four cats.
