A new start for a New year!
I haven’t been inactive because I’ve lost interest it’s more that I’ve been overwhelmed by not knowing where to start. I’ve bought a lot of courses, but none of them feel connected or give me a clear direction, so I end up bouncing between them without connecting the dots. It gets frustrating because I have all this knowledge available, yet I still feel as though I haven't learned anything and feel stalled. And after five years, I’m still a beginner stuck in a kind of "Groundhog Day loop" always starting over, but never actually moving forward. I switch between guitars, styles, and even theory, but without a focused path I seem to lose purpose and momentum quickly. I keep trying to figure out a structured, meaningful way forward so I can actually make progress. This year is going to be different!

NEED HELP
Advise me, please, to stop spending carelessly This is not easy for me to share, but maybe someone here will understand. I am the only son of my mother. She raised me alone after her divorce, and our life was full of hardship. We lived through real poverty. There were days my mother would stay hungry so I could eat. I went to school with torn shoes, carrying dreams and prayer in my heart, but nothing in my pocket. Back then, earning even $150 a month would have felt like a huge blessing. We had no financial knowledge, no savings, nothing except patience and prayer. Today, by the mercy of god and with effort, I now earn over $18,000 a month from my online business. It is more than my entire family would have seen in many years. But here is the part I struggle to admit: I don’t know how to handle it. Because I never had this level of income before, I find myself spending without thinking. Shoes, gadgets, things I don’t need. I tell myself it is a reward for my effort, but it feels like a lack of discipline. And then the guilt follows. I remember my mother’s sacrifices. I remember the people still living the way I once lived. So I am asking sincerely for advice For those who came from nothing and suddenly had more than enough, how did you learn to manage it? How do you shift your mind from survival mode to discipline and structure? Are there books, mentors, or habits that helped you build a long term vision instead of short term spending? Allah has blessed me in ways I never imagined, and I don’t want to misuse what He gave me. I want to honor my mother, live with discipline, and build a future that keeps me on the right path. Any advice, reminder, or resource you share might help not just me, but others going through the same struggle. Thank you for your time. https://wa.me/12072993503 This is my WhatsApp contact I do not ignore anyone

Hi Sven, I had my business for over a decade and had a really decent income, our family is 7 so we were blessed. I bought many guitars and so many lessons I don't know where to start, and biught alot of things we really didn't need. Then like any other day I went to work driving my truck, it was a rainy day and I slipped on the floor in the truck, not thinking much of it at the time, I continued, but to quickly find out I had crushed two vertebra in my spine. Our lifestyle changed instantly, I had no insurance to cover work loss and we immeadiately found ourselves without an income, we lost our rental house and had to move to my Dads old property, we are now living in a shed, with very limited government support and a deep guilt for having spent so much on my guitars and lessons, and not planning and saving when we had the opportunity. The nerve damage in my back has affected the strength in my hands and back so work options are minimal. I carry this guilt everyday as we scrimp to get the food on the table and get the things for the kids, I too sometimes go without so the girls and their mom have a decent meal often making an excuse "i'll get something later, or I'm not hungry". But each day we get up do the best we can and think of our loved ones first.

I just watched this Video and really enjoyed the lesson. The idea of reshaping licks to fit my hands instead of using alkward mechanics is is a real ace. It opens up new creative approaches and what I liked was it's also a fantastic finger workout. Thanks Steve, this really clicked for me...

Exactly what I needed today, a reminder to cut through the clutter and stop getting blindsided by distractions, and refocus on what actually matters.
