This is a warning to everyone and I mean everyone. There are so many times in my life where I have folded because of "connections" and allowed them to slide through a lot of things. But the most critical mistake I made was this year for Prom Committee. Brief Description: Prom Committee is a group of Sophomores who help plan Prom for all the Juniors + Seniors. I allowed all the leads to let their friends and mine be inside Prom Com. Biggest mistake I have ever made this year. They do not do anything and the disrespect they have given me every week when I present is mediocre. I'm aware that I'm their classmate and the same age but dang, going on your phone and doing your homework after I tell you not to is utterly diabolical. And the weird part is that this level of disrespect is unprecedented and never occurred to me before, EVER. I also guess I've been very lenient in the beginning of the year which may play a role in their disrespect towards me. Which I shouldn't have done at all. Being "nice" can cost you all that authority and they really have slipped from my control. Just remember when you are in the same predicament: Connections don't earn respect. Standards Do.
