Thank you so much to everyone who has responded to my earlier post. I’ve genuinely found the comments really helpful, and they’ve given me quite a few things to think about that I hadn’t considered myself! I’m still very much experimenting at this stage, but once the app starts taking a bit more shape, I’d really like to come back and share some of the ideas with you and get your thoughts. There’s also another direction I’ve been thinking about, probably for a later stage: ADHD in the workplace. One thing I’ve noticed is that there can sometimes be quite a gap between what an ADHDer experiences at work and what a manager or employer understands about how best to support them. So I’m wondering whether there could eventually be a workplace element to the app. The important part for me would be that it remains led by the ADHDer — they decide what, if anything, they want to share. It wouldn’t be about an employer having access to somebody’s personal information or monitoring them. Instead, perhaps it could help someone understand their own working patterns, challenges and strengths, and then, if they choose, communicate some of those needs to their manager in a useful way. On the other side, it could give managers practical, evidence-based guidance about how they might support someone rather than expecting them to already understand ADHD. For example: “This is something I find difficult at work; this is what might be happening for me; and these are some things that could help.” This is definitely a later-stage idea, but I’d really value your perspective: Would something like this be useful? And if you were using it, what would you want your manager to understand about your ADHD — and what would you definitely NOT want an app to share?
