Carl Munson's Blog...
This is where much of my prolific output will be from now on, in one thread, so that I don't dominate the 'Write something' timeline. Please feel free to do the same as this club becomes more of a check-in and sharing environment. Please note you can easily share images, links, video (SKOOL allows video file upload now), create a poll, and express yourself with a simple emoji or GIF! See comments for my latest share...

@Carl Munson you're welcome. I hope you get the chance to interview the interesting author one day. We were classmates in our PLA A2 language course in Lagos over the last 12 months.

"How Music Shaped Portugal’s History (10 Things We Love About Portugal as Musicians - Ep 4)"
And ANOTHER great video from the Blisses! Great job @Michael Bliss... "From kings who were pop musicians and rebels—to Fado in the streets—to the songs that spurred a revolution—Portugal would not be what it is today without the musicians that took action at pivotal moments. Join us as we take a brief look at a few of the musicians that changed Portugal. We are Cheryl and Michael, two artists/singer-songwriters who moved from the United States to Portugal. If you’re interested in what it’s like to be an artist and musician living in Europe, subscribe to this channel and follow our journey! -Michael and Cheryl"

loved this video (and I'm a big fan of their channel) - the style is informative and respectful and rightly honours the deep rich culture around us that so many newcomers don't see. well done @Michael Bliss and Cheryl

more Portuguese musical talent graces NPR Music's Tiny Desk
Following on from Maro's appearance earlier in the year, NPR Music's Tiny Desk has invited another supreme Portuguese musical talent to perform. Marta Pereira da Costa is the world`s first and only professional portuguese guitar female player in Fado, the soulful music from Portugal recently acknowledged by UNESCO as part of the World ́s Intangible Cultural Heritage. Here's NPR Music's description of the session. "Accompanied by second guitarist João José Pita Junior and percussionist Pedro Segundo, the trio bridges centuries of history with immaculate playing and plenty of smiles. As Marta states in between songs, the entire performance is a musical journey through her homeland, from land to sea and everything in between." It's a captivating session. Por favor, apreciem e partilhem. O talento dela merece um público mais vasto. Obrigado https://youtu.be/wzlZ68ts-IU?si=04JUNLc-DyiNC01z
