One of the biggest shifts in my teaching happened when I stopped asking, "How can I teach this grammar point?" and started asking, "What real-world conversation can my students be part of?" During the 2014 and 2018 World Cups, the tournament became the context for almost every lesson I taught. Instead of working with textbook dialogues, my students: - Predicted match results. - Reacted to interviews. - Discussed controversial referee decisions. - Read authentic headlines. - Created social media posts. - Debated which team deserved to win. - Shared opinions about players and memorable moments. The focus wasn't football. The focus was communication. The World Cup simply gave students a meaningful reason to listen, speak, read and write in English. Uno de los errores más comunes al enseñar inglés es intentar que los niños aprendan palabras y estructuras de forma abstracta, a través de libros y fichas, antes de haberlas experimentado. Los niños aprenden mejor cuando pueden ver, tocar, mover y experimentar el idioma. ✨ En lugar de enseñar apple con una imagen, lleva una manzana real. ✨ En lugar de enseñar under con una explicación, coloca un objeto debajo de una caja. ✨ En lugar de memorizar verbos, invita a los niños a correr, saltar y aplaudir. Cuando el aprendizaje involucra los sentidos, el idioma cobra vida y se vuelve significativo. I don’t believe pronunciation is learned only through repetition, memorization or isolated sounds. I believe pronunciation is something your brain, your ear and your body need to EXPERIENCE. That’s why inside my programs I don’t teach phonetics traditionally.I train my students’ senses. We work through: ✨ auditory perception ✨ sensory learning ✨ rhythm & musicality ✨ mouth and tongue awareness ✨ listening training ✨ neurolearning ✨ shadowing & repetition ✨ body-memory connection Because many students don’t actually have a “bad pronunciation problem”. They simply were never trained to truly HEAR the sounds of English. When the ear changes, the pronunciation changes. When the nervous system feels safe, fluency expands. When the body understands the sound, communication becomes natural. That’s why my classes are not focused only on “speaking English”.
