Transparency: Planning vs listening to my body (I’m in the middle of this one) 💛 I’ve been sitting with something I’m genuinely still figuring out, and I wanted to share it here because I have a feeling I’m not the only one. For most of my life, I was super organised — the kind of person who planned everything, stuck to it, pushed through… and then wondered why I was exhausted, resentful, and quietly burning out. I hit a point where I felt like I was never achieving anything because the bar kept moving and my body was always paying the price. So I swung the other way. I decided I should listen to my body over everything… and I basically stopped planning. And honestly, that was healing in a lot of ways. I needed it. But a few years down the line, I’ve noticed a new kind of discomfort: this feeling of “I haven’t achieved anything tangible.” (If only we could measure a healing journey, right? 😅) And then that spirals into this story of being “unsuccessful”, even though I know the inner work has mattered. The insight that landed for me recently came from a Leila video where she said something like: planning gives you free time because you’re not making decisions every 30 minutes. And it hit me in the chest like… oh. That’s what I’ve been missing. Not structure as punishment — structure as support. A way to protect my mental space. So tomorrow I’m giving myself time to plan my week: meals, workouts, content, the basics. Not to become rigid again — but to hold myself in a way that reduces decision fatigue. And I want to practise this middle path: having a plan and still listening to my body (like not forcing a hard workout when I don’t have the capacity). Wish me luck. I’m trying to build something sustainable — not perfect. Question: Have you ever swung between “overplanning” and “no planning at all”?
