Hi all, I just wanted to let you know that I used Rock Wool insulation today inside the Pallets, which I’m feeling pretty good about. It was rather pricey about $80 for a large bag and I need two bags to do the whole cobin. It comes 6 inches thick so I was able to pretty easily break it in half to fit inside. As I explained in our talk on Sunday, my issue with just adding dries draw is at the straw and heat up on a hot day and radiate that heat in. The concern I have about makes Clay slip in with the straw is that I would want to wait a couple weeks to dry before adding the cob plaster. I added a video the course today and the framing the Pallets section for those of you who have access to the cobin course now.

A new question came up in our family after today’s call: how likely is it that mice could get through the outer clay plaster and nest in the straw insulation? And what can we do to prevent that?
