A Tip I Wish Every Author Knew Before Publishing on Amazon KDP
One mistake I see many authors make is assuming: “If my eBook looks good, my paperback will too.” Unfortunately, Kindle and print books are built very differently. Here’s what often catches authors off guard: 🔹 eBooks are reflowable: readers can change font size 🔹 Paperbacks are fixed layout: spacing, margins & trim size matter 🔹 A file that works for Kindle can fail completely in print 🔹 Reader complaints usually come from print layout issues, not the story What professionals do differently: ✔ Separate formatting for eBook & paperback ✔ Proper margins and gutters for print ✔ Clean chapter breaks & consistent styles ✔ Files tested before upload, not after rejection I share this here because Skool is about learning together, not gatekeeping information. As someone working hands-on with KDP and digital/print books, I’m happy to drop practical insights that help authors avoid costly mistakes. 👉 Author question: Are you planning to publish eBook only, paperback only, or both? Let’s talk 👇

@Hanna V how long is each ebook (word count), and are you planning to publish them as a series or standalone titles?

@Hanna V Perfect, that’s actually a smart plan. 5,000-word romance fits Amazon Short Reads very well, and starting with standalones before bundling is ideal. I’d recommend launching the singles first on KDP for visibility, then creating a bundle for higher royalties, while also keeping digital downloads for your audience later. KDP is great for discovery; your website/socials are best once you’re established.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE PS- @Susan Wright we missed you <3 hope your dinner was YUM.

THE CLASSIFIEDS
If you're someone who is active in Skoolers, I got the SLAP ON THE WRIST today for posting too frequently they said don't post more than 3x a week 😥 but if you have a community you want to highlight or a service/skill you want to share, or even an ask, you can do that on the CLASSIFIEDS Highly recommend that you join that group because their self-promotion is OK.

Premium Changes Are Coming
As we rapidly approach the end of the year🗓️, I want to give you a heads-up that changes to this community are going to be happening. I just made a big investment in Skool so that I can continue to expand my classroom and provide more value. 📆 CHANGES FOR JAN: 1. Call Times - Premium member call times are now shifting to 7:30-8:30pm on Weds. For those of you who don't know, I am still employed full-time and will have to return to the office in January 😞, so I expect to be home later, which is why I am moving the call. 2. Workshops - If you're a PREMIUM member, please check the calendar for JAN. Instead of Q&A calls, I am shifting it to specialized workshops where I will hold the training, then make sure you have access to the replays. This way you get more value! 💰 PRICING CHANGES WILL COME SOON: To be transparent, invested heavily in a school coach to help me level up this community and hit my goals. My plan is not set in stone yet, it's a work in progress I will let you know in advance before I change the premium level rates but do know they will be changing likely sometime in JAN. With that said, while my premium rates are currently only $20/month for premium and you will be locking in that rate and not have to pay more. Leveling up now would be a great opportunity if you're serious about actually producing books in 2026. READY TO LEVEL UP? CLICK HERE AND UPGRADE TO PREMIUM If you have questions about this, please make sure you drop them in the comments below so I can connect. Wishing all of you a very happy and successful NEW YEAR.

Happy New Year 🎉 🎉 🎉
What if 2026 is the year you finally publish your book?
If writing a book has been on your mind for a while, this is your sign to set the goal now. Books don’t happen by accident—they happen when you decide and start building momentum. Start with Future Author Energy in the classroom to get clear on your book idea and stop overthinking. When you’re ready to turn that idea into a real, published book, the Book Challenge will help you put everything together. Yes, a book can be done in 7 days—but if life is busy, let’s aim for something realistic and powerful: your first book published in Q1 of 2026. I’m launching a brand new book in Q1 too, so we’ll be building and launching together. No perfection—just progress.
