Any Small Wins?
Does anybody have any wins this week even if they are 'small'? My small win is I met a Co-Founder of a global business this week and although we were discussing the job brief, it made me think about how narrow we can be in our thinking. For example, shifting my mindset from, how can I get 50 CFOs to a webinar to how can I get 50% of the UK CFO population to a webinar. Same numbers 😇 but a very different outcome. @Claire Peal can you please stop updating your profile?!? 😇 Claire is now number one out of 10 million profile in the London area for ALL professionals on LinkedIn. If you're going to play the game, play it better than anybody else. After five months you deserve some luck. And don't forget to finish the rest of your 'homework'.

Awareness - Posting on LinkedIn
A CFO messaged me last week after he posted about Chinese New Year. He said he couldn’t believe the increase in profile views as a result. Here’s the thing! There’s over 1 billion people on LinkedIn and this is growing by 10,000 people per week. 50% of users come onto the platform weekly. ONLY 1% of users post weekly though. So if you post, you’re going to have more visibility than not. if you want some inspiration @Nigel Grace, @Simon Coultas and @Rachel Daly are regular posters. Finally if you want a framework I would put your content into three buckets: 1. Value - give your knowledge or invests away from free 2. Credibility - show people what you’ve done 3. Entertaining - could be a poll or even a question The more you post the easier it becomes 😀

This is great advice! I started posting “regularly-ish” after I was made redundant & it makes a massive difference. It may not be your comfort zone but do what you’ve got to do. Don’t overthink it. If in doubt thrash something out with chat gpt to polish it until it reads how you like I was also told if you include a photo (of yourself even better!!) it helps the algorithm too If you don’t want to post, comment on other peoples posts as much as you can manage. That’s supposed to help. You can view “analytics” under your profile page

@Claire Peal joined SKOOL two days ago having struggled with her job search for five months. Prior to joining SKOOL Claire was completely invisible and it was the usual; job titles and location. It's total BS but that's the game we're playing. So lets play it better than other people. And although Claire hasn't finished her profile she now ranks 3rd of out 33k FDs in the London Area. Yes, 3rd behind Christophe + Mark. Incredible! Claire also received a call for a role out of the blue yesterday. So if you're sat on the fence, focusing on your CV or thinking I'll do it tomorrow, I would encourage you to prioritise your LinkedIn profile 1st, CV 2nd and Interview Technique 3rd.
