New Tool: Take the guesswork out of your next project
I’ve been working on a little something to help you bridge the gap between "just following instructions" and truly understanding your sewing. I’ve created a custom digital assistant, a "Skill Diagnostic" tool to help you identify exactly where to focus your energy to see the biggest improvement in your sewing results. Whether you're feeling stuck on fit or looking to improve some techniques, this tool will give you a clear path forward. You can try it out here Give it a go and let me know in the comments what popped up for you. I can't wait to hear your thoughts!

@Debra Verrall they're a fab tool!! Highly highly recommend Community Economy Ai, best AI group I've found to build artifacts like this 😍 https://www.skool.com/community-economy-ai/about?ref=b0ae7e2f174148c69590549882644938

@Debra Verrall ah yes I'm in Evelyn's too, she's great isn't she, I struggle with her teachings, but pushing through. 🫣
PDF Joining technique
Heres a method I use to join my PDF pattern pages. - Ensure theyre all to the correct scale using the test square. Each designer uses a similar method, either inches, centimetres, or both. - Stack the pages - Trim off the excess from the RIGHT HAND SIDE and the BOTTOM of all pages - Working from left to right, start at page one and line up page two. - The cut edge of page one will cover the margin on page two. - Use small pieces of tape - Once row 1 is complete, start row 2. - Again, the cut bottom edge of page one will cover the margin on the start of the second row. - Once all pages are joined, you can go over with a wide packing tape. - This is now your master pattern - For multi sized patterns (like this aline skirt) trace off the required size. This short video shows the final row for the aline skirt pattern. (And explains why those last 5 pages are skinny) Any problems let me know, I'll be on checking messages for the whole weekend ☺️

I love putting patterns together, I use masking tape, so it syncs with the paper easier and can manipluate if need 🪡😍 write on, and make a part of the patter.

@Debra Verrall Oh no, it's like when you get a vintage wooden frame, always taped on the back, there's ones that have held and one that haven't! think the should provide glue quality/dose on the packaging!! hehe

any advice for small fabric pieces under the sewing machine?
hii!! this is my first post so i’m a little nervous… but I’ve been sewing these little plushies of my favorite character completely by hand because i’m afraid of my sewing machine eating the pieces because they’re so small! but it takes awhile to do everything by hand, and I want to feel more comfortable on my machine! so I was wondering if anyone has any tips for working with small pieces of fabric that I can try!!

how fabulous !!! first idea, glue your seam edges before you sew, lay all your patterns down on a table, get some good fabric glue, and secure those bad boy edges !!! Then pin pin pin, with little tiny pins, to secure in place. Happy sewing!

@Jane Harbison anything with delicate edges, I always glue the seam edge first, dry and sew. it just gives extra strength, no fraying , and especially good when manipulating into a strong foundation 🫶
