I just realized something big.
The reason I work out so often, track my calories, make sure to burn 1,000 kcal every day, and hit the gym at 6 AM is simple. I don’t want to be overweight. But what does this have to do with YouTube? Consistency. For me, staying consistent with my workout routine doesn’t require much thought. It's just part of my life. So when I started my camera confidence challenge, I was able to post a video every day for 30 days. And here’s what’s kind of odd. Most people struggle to post two videos a week, yet I was uploading daily. Then I realized a key difference. My WHY was to improve my on-camera presence, NOT to gain subscribers. Because of that, I couldn’t get discouraged by low views or slow growth. Now, imagine if my WHY had been to reach 1,000 subscribers. I would have felt discouraged by Day 2. I would’ve started chasing growth hacks and tricks. And if those didn’t work, I would’ve likely given up. I’m not about to spend four years hoping to reach a goal in the future. That would feel like a waste of time. But if my WHY is to get better on camera, improve my studio, or make an impact, which are things I can work on today, then every day feels fulfilling. I wake up eager to live life because I’m doing something that gives my day purpose. So, from the outside, it may look like I’m just being consistent. But really, I just have the right WHY, which means consistency happens naturally. No forcing it, no struggling to stay on track, just showing up because I want to.
