It was great getting to chat with you. See you on the next one!
Foundations — Feedback
This is the place for anything you notice in the foundations lessons. Skool doesn't allow comments under the videos themselves, so this thread does that job. How to make it useful: • Start with the lesson name, so I know where to look. • Good and bad both count. Small things too — a cut-off sentence, guitar louder than my voice, a fret buzz. That's exactly the stuff I can't hear myself anymore. • Sound and video are fair game, not just the teaching. When something's fixable, I'll fix it and re-upload — usually the same day — and reply here so you know it's done. Anything you'd rather not post publicly: DM me.

Really enjoying the program so far! I’m having some trouble with the muted/open note part on “Where Is My Mind” - starting around 3:00 into the video. Any extra tips or pointers?

I really enjoyed the first part of the course. I’m working on nailing down the final faster E-Ride. Your method is engaging and fun.

@Alexander Muell thank you for this tip. I’ll keep it in mind.
First Win post to get this category going
I was 8 when I got my hands on my cousin's beat-up guitar and a beginner's classical book. No teacher, no YouTube — I just worked through the book on my own. After my parents saw I actually stuck with it, they signed me up for private lessons. The first six months were rough, honestly. Lots of fumbling. But then something clicked: I realized the music I actually liked wasn't as hard to play as I'd thought. I learned a few songs I cared about, and from there things moved fast. That's the kind of moment this category is for — when something finally clicks. Doesn't matter how small. First chord that didn't buzz. First time you switched between two chords without stopping. First song you played start to finish. Post a video, a voice memo, or just write it. We celebrate everything here.

My win is simple, but significant to me. I’m a lefty so finding a guitar has always been a challenge. I’ve had a few guitars but they never felt right. Options have increased in the last few years and I love my current guitar. It feels right in my hands and is the first time I’ve felt connected to an instrument since I gave up trumpet in 8th grade
Quick intro since I'm starting this off.
I'm Alex. Berlin-based, been playing guitar for around 40 years, teaching for over 25. Trained at LAMA in Pasadena, now mostly teach beginners — privately and here. Started this community because most online guitar courses are built for people who already kind of know what they're doing. This one isn't. It's for the absolute beginner who wants to actually play songs, not just watch tutorials. If you're new here: tell me your first name, where you're roughly based, and one song you'd love to be able to play. That's it

Chris from Louisiana. I’d love to be able to play “Smells Like Teen Spirit” - Nirvana, “Ooh La La” - Faces and “Jack and Diane” - John Mellencamp to name a few
