Circle of fifths
Open question to all musicians ! Circle of fifths, How relevant is this to violin playing? Is it for jamming and knowing what to play that sounds nice together and/or writing songs? I’m curious, as I would like to know if this chart/aid is helpful for me, and that will help me understand music better and compliment other musicians whilst playing (jamming) . Not that I’m anywhere near ready to perform in front of live audiences yet. Thank you for your time 🙂

@Jenny O'Connor After having been at this a few years I find that good body, bow, and violin position are the key things you need to start playing well. Perhaps good relative pitch as well but I think you can easily learn that. The Circle of Fifths is a neat way to mentally organize key signatures if you really want to dig into music theory but it is not required to start playing the violin.

@Graham Acres LOL! I meant that to read good body position, good bow position, and good violin position are the things that helped me progress the fastest.
