Day 1- Plant Rescue
Shannon and I spent the day today preparing the greenhouses for a couple of weeks shut down, while things are being prepped and planned. One of the women we work with was heartbroken about the plants that were being kept having to be wasted. We also despise wasting perfectly good produce. We refuse to. So, we offered to use our social media presence locally to try to find them homes so that her hardwork and investment of care wasn't lost, or the plants themselves. It's always worth an attempt at saving 'em. We also moved a load or two of them into a different greenhouse to protect them from frost and potentially save them. Anyway here's some photos. Never forget that your community will be the noun that supports you all. Contribute to it and watch the efforts and care repay itself time and time again.

Reptile heat mats under the trays and clear covers to keep the biome functioning ala a greenhouse? Also those metal racks wrap well in commercial saran wrap

Salutations to you all! My name is Christopher or Chris if you prefer. I am a semi-retired disabled chef with 35 years experience mixed between corporate, mom & pop, and Michelin Star facilities. Heck, I even have some degrees related to the subjects of food. I love to talk about food. Not only does it sustain us but it is the edible art form. One of the greatest moments a chef can have is to experience a full dining room only making the sound of someone dining. You hear every plate, fork, knife, spoon and sip they take over idle conversation. For me, I have given an everyone a shared moment which may either build a new memory or bring back some. If anyone ever has a question about food, how to use food, a technique, or even just want to shoot the sprout... Feel free to shoot me a message. Remember everyone food is meant to be played with and is not just something we do. If that was the case Soylent Green would be good enough 🤣
