The Problem Framing Playbook - now available to the public
šŸ›‘ I know this might sound a bit selly, but it’s something I’m proud to finally share: Until now, we only shared this system in private trainings with teams at Google, EY, HSBC, eBay, SAP, the World Bank, and others. Why? Because it works best when the stakes are high, the environment is complex, and multiple senior stakeholders need to align — fast. But now, for the first time, we’ve made it available to the public. Especially if you’re in product, strategy, innovation — or you facilitate this kind of work for others — this is for you. It’s based on our Problem Framing method — a simple, proven structure that consistently delivers results in even the most complex environments. Here’s what’s inside the Problem Framing Playbook: āœ… A step-by-step breakdown of the 4-phase workshop āœ… How to prepare, who to involve, and what to avoid āœ… Real-world scenarios that show when (and how) to use the method āœ… Templates for every key activity in the workshop šŸŽÆ Grab your copy here: https://www.designsprint.academy/product/the-problem-framing-playbook

🤩 From UX to Facilitation
Hi! šŸ‘‹ My name is NĆŗria, I’m from Catalonia and currently based in Munich, Germany. I work as a UX Lead at IU Group (private online university) designing digital experiences with a strong focus on user-centered design. Right now, I’m transitioning into workshop facilitation, combining my UX expertise with collaborative problem-solving techniques. āž”ļø I bring a deep understanding of UX strategy, a passion for innovation, and a growing skill set in facilitation to the community. I’m excited to share insights, learn from others, and explore new ways to drive impactful design conversations. āž”ļø From this community, I hope to refine my facilitation skills, gain fresh perspectives on running effective workshops, and connect with experienced facilitators who can help me grow in this space. 🧭 For fun, I do orienteering —running through the forest with a map and compass. I’m also a trainer, and I’ve found that planning trainings and workshops have a lot in common —both require structure, adaptability, and an understanding of how people learn and navigate challenges. Looking forward to connecting with everyone!

Free Video Training - Facilitating a Foundation Sprint (based on Click)
Hi all, I know how tricky it can be to run workshops—especially when you don’t have all the resources handy. If you haven’t had a chance to grab Jake Knapp and John Zeratsky’s book, Click, or if you’re planning to facilitate a Foundation Sprint soon and want to get ahead, I’ve got some exciting news: At Design Sprint Academy, we’ve just launched a step-by-step video series on YouTube, guiding you through the entire Foundation Sprint method! You can watch it here šŸ‘‰ Foundation Sprint - All Exercises I’m still working to complete the entire series (keep an eye out—hold me accountable!).

Awesome @Dana Vetan @John Vetan thank you very much
Diagreements and conflicts
Hello everyone, This is more of a general question from a facilitation standpoint. Conflicts and disagreements among participants are inevitable. How do you handle that as facilitators and help the group to come together and make a decision? A simple example could be that two subgroups have completely contrasting views about a topic. Voting could be an option but I'm not necessarily a fan of forced voting, i 'm looking for something beyond that which is more meanigful and impactful. Any tips or best practices would be helpful!

Let us know how it went, when you facing such issues the next time ;)
Do we want to talk about the hype around the Foundation Sprint - Click?
Yesterday the creators of Sprint - Jake Knapp and John Zeratsky launched their new book "Click" - with a specific focus on exploring the problem space through the Foundation Sprint. In case you've missed the big news, here is an article giving a quick preview of what's inside https://www.lennysnewsletter.com/p/introducing-the-foundation-sprint If you know me or John Vetan, or you are familiar with our work at Design Sprint Academy, you probably also know that we've been challenging the Sprint method for years - as it missed exactly this critical part: problem discovery and empathy with the user. That's why we created the Problem Framing approach in 2018. For us it often felt that we are 🄊 fighting an uphill battle - as everyone else was happy with the sprint as is. With this new book and all the hype around it on Linkedin especially, I guess on one side it validates our though process and on the other side, it shows that teams are finally ready to think more critically before jumping into solutions. Or, it shows that "who says it' really matters. I guess every new thing needs to be validated by a an accredited voice in the industry. Otherwise, it is just someone's opinion. What do you think about the Foundation Sprint? I'd love to hear your thoughts. How do you plan to use it in your projects?

I have to read the book first, but based on Jake Knapp's newsletter, it seems to be a missing part, he was looking for ... and it seems to work ... As the book only is released in April (I think), I'm curious how much it is related to your problem framing method ;)

I'm the Austrian process wizard, who uses the design sprint for process improvement projects. Besides that, I love sports, books, chess and meditation
