Contamination spotting
This is an easy way to spot contamination in your grains or substrate. Take a Pic of your jar, bag, or bin. Go to edit the picture. Put the brightness and saturation up to 100% The colours our eyes cant pick up will show up. This jar is an example from the OG group. Still have access if anyone wants me to search your name and can share a bit of your history 😉 😀 Happy Friday ladies!!!

Today was a busy one
Managed to get to a few other groups calls and of course each one lead to mushrooms 😂 Hoping all this training and stalking im doing is going to pay off. Also did you know you can use a pressure cooker for not only grains? Canned tomatoes on the stove and peels in the dehydrator.

Woods season for me.
These are a really amazing mushroom, Chlorociboria aeruginascens. Its super tiny which is why the pictures are so fuzzy. But the mycelium actually dyes the wood a beautiful green blue. The stain holds its colour and highly prized for artists. Chlorociboria aeruginascens Observation # 600738b9-9b72-40f3-ac6a-0bd7e2a1df5c

Lactarius thyinos
🔬 A mushroom that teaches you about taxonomy. For decades, orange milkcaps were often lumped together under names such as Lactarius deliciosus. Molecular and morphological studies showed that the North American group is considerably more complicated. Researchers have used DNA sequencing alongside traditional mushroom characters to separate these species. One Newfoundland and Labrador study found genetically consistent L. thyinos collections while also finding several other, potentially distinct green- or blue-staining orange milkcaps that didn't fit neatly into the traditional names. Myko Web So when somebody says: “They're all just saffron milkcaps.” …mycologists would have a LOT to say about that. 😂 Yes its edible 😋
