⁉️Have you checked out the Classroom yet?
Module 1: Session 1 talks about 'Understanding Country' - included are reflections, further resources and 'Yarning time' where members are encouraged to start a chat here in the Community page. Anyone can post and comment just like social media, so what are you waiting for? I'm keen to hear your thoughts and see what others think as well🤗

🤎Invitation🤎 - Course topics
If you have a topic that you’d like to delve into, either comment here or send me a message. Even though I have a (mostly) set structure, I’ll always be open to including what you guys want to learn more about and if I know an expert in that field, I’ll try and get them involved too🥰

If you have any trouble accessing the first sub module on your mobile, let me know. I’ve reached out to get this fixed - on the laptop it looks fine.

Disaster Resilience for First Nations tourism operators
A little off topic but still a great conversation piece. I’ve been running focus groups with First Nations operators across Queensland, Australia to develop a program evaluation for a client company. Feedback from participants has been insightful and it’s great to hear that one Aboriginal corporation in particular has implemented a heap of measures since attending a disaster resilience workshop held in Outback Queensland last year. Preparing for, and recovering from a natural or manmade disaster is something everyone should do and not just business owners or tourism operators. About five years ago I created a risk matrix for the home - I think everyone would benefit from going through this process. Have you done anything like this in your home?

Disaster Resilience for First Nations tourism operators
Welcome to the Country & Culture Circle!
Being a proud First Nations woman from Gunggandji (Yarrabah, Far North Queensland) and Kaurareg (Hammond Island, Torres Strait Islands), I'm a mum to 4 girls with a passion for working with, and for 'mob' especially in cultural tourism. I have over 25 years' public and private sector experience working directly with mob (that's what we call ourselves), in the fields of tourism, the arts (libraries, galleries and museums), employment, and business development as well as higher education and of course lived experience. Learning & discussion modules will be released each month in the 'classroom' that will help you learn, understand and reflect - remember to use the chat to share your thoughts, insights and questions. I aim to host virtual Q&A yarning (talking) circles each month once our Skool membership grows, with Elders, community members, and cultural tourism operators to talk about their experiences. So whether it's for work, travel, personal, or professional reasons for joining, let's come together and start this journey together! 💞If you're new here, introduce yourself and let everyone know what your favourite activity is when you travel 🏕️🏖️🍽️🛍️🚲🥾

When I travel, I love to take in as many sites as possible, connect with nature and take plenty of photos. And I love to try different cafes, restaurants and cocktails!
