Where to find 3D printing problem photos?
I’m attaching a photo of a failed print, just got a new PEI sheet for my X1C. Prints are doing this. This is a two part question: 1.) Where can I go to see photos of problems like this, with ways to make adjustments to correct them without posting to a forum? 2.) How do I fix this? Lol I’m switching from the cool plate the X1c comes with, to this HICTOP brand textured PEI. So far, I’ve only tried adjusting the temperature in the cooler and hotter directions for adhesion but it seems temperature is not my problem as the prints turn out the same. For ADDITIONAL reference, if I print something off of the onboard file system, everything prints nearly perfect. My issue is I can’t see the gcode to compare and figure out why those would print just fine, but nothing I send to the printer myself does?

@Boris Pfeiffer I did not. I expected the lidar auto calibration to handle anything related. How would I do that?

@Boris Pfeiffer I’m just scratching my head at what could cause this, seeing if anyone has had prints do this before.. I can print things that come with the printer in the memory, like a benchy, just fine. But my own designs do this weird stuff
Etsy profitability :)
Greetings fellow 3D printing comrades, I trust your 3D printers are operating smoothly and bringing your creations to life. I'm eager to delve into your individual experiences with Etsy, particularly concerning profit generation. As I embark on investing in 3D printing equipment, my focus is on establishing a business venture with 3 Bambu Lab X1 with AMS, so I am really interested in your opinion about possible profitability on Etsy. Have a nice day.

Just to join in on the discussion, I recently started my Etsy shop. I JUST got an AMS after having my X1C for about 3 months. Ive had my shop open for almost a year but I waited to do any real designing and printing until I got my X1C. So basically, the shop was open with about 4 products, practically untouched for its first 8ish months. Here’s what my challenges have been: First of all, it’s easy to set up the shop overall. Listing products is easy since you can duplicate listings and reuse them as templates if you’re selling lots of similar stuff. My first challenge was learning that selling digital STL files was not very effective. Customers get confused about those. On another post in this group, Cults3D was recommended for selling digital. Secondly, I currently specialize in lightboxes. It’s my passion. But I do not have any good marketing techniques or knowledge except for using my instagram and facebook pages to advertise. Although i’m sure my passion can make me money later as I build on it, it may be more useful if you check this group’s “hot list” or (Etsy’s hot list) of most searched items and design according to that list. I’m currently designing things that are trending as opposed to things i’m passionate about, for the sake of profitability and getting my store more views.

To the point of my store being open and untouched those first 8 months, Having my store open all that time brought me about 1 sale, because the item in question happened to be appear in searches very frequently. Etsy provides you date based on how frequently certain items are searched, what the original query was, and how (if at all) it was found when advertised by Etsy, whether offsite or not.
Selling physical products, 3d designs or both?
Hello everyone. I am Mustafa, an architect from Turkey. I have been selling my 3d prints locally but recently I have decided to sell on Etsy. I am designing some vases and decorative objects for that purpose. I want to sell things like vases, jewelry holders, decorative objects etc. But I also wanna be able to gain money via patreon in the long term. So the question is, should I use social media for possible customers or people interested in buying 3d designs? I would appreciate your ideas 🙏🏽 I can share some early designs if you want so we can discuss. I really like the community btw. Love you all 😄

Hey I’d like to say that I sell both physical and digital products on my Etsy shop. I have a duplicate version of some of my products for this purpose. One problem I ran into was buyers would see the live product photos on the digital versions of my items, and buy the digital version when they actually wanted the physical print (seriously, people do not read). Even if I put [DIGITAL] first in all caps, the customer sees the lower price point and $0 shipping and gets excited. This turned into a problem because I either didn’t have the physical listing ready yet (not priced out, not ready for production, etc) OR I would have to refund the customer entirely because shipping costs were 5x the product price (someone purchasing from the Netherlands for example when i’m in the US). If you don’t know, Etsy gets a little anxious when you refund a sale as a shop owner. Just wanted to share this experience, it’s definitely doable, but your store ratings can suffer if you’re not attentive to customers buying digital products who get upset when it’s been digitally delivered but not mailed to them. There are other platforms you can do this with, like Thingiverse, which allows you to list your digitals and even get tips. I bave not yet looked into Makerworld, Printables etc. but i’m sure these offer something similar and stand as a place to list digitals. I’m still working on a proper solution for the Etsy thing. All in all, selling digitals is super convenient because the work is already done and repeatedly sells itself. Just be careful where and how you do it

@Daniel Haag I forgot about Cults3D! Thanks for the tip, i’ll be going there next then. It’s got me thinking, perhaps I should do all digitals on the more digital-oriented platforms, and keep the physicals with links to them on Etsy. I’m gonna pilot something like that and see where it takes me.
