GPT-5 Launch Thoughts + What’s Coming for Plus Users
🧠 GPT-5 just launched on free ChatGPT accounts, and while it's been hyped as “more accurate,” my experience says otherwise. I gave it a web page to reference and it immediately hallucinated facts. I had to correct it—and it apologized—but this was right out of the gate. Not a great start. 💸 Now OpenAI is considering giving ChatGPT Plus users a FEW GPT-5 Pro queries per month. GPT-5 Pro is currently locked behind a $200/month paywall and is described as “research grade.” The idea is to offer deeper accuracy and faster, thoughtful responses—but only in small doses unless you pay up. 🤯 This move reintroduces model confusion. GPT-4o was removed, then restored for Plus users after backlash. Now we’re juggling GPT-5, GPT-5 Thinking, GPT-5 Pro, and GPT-4o again. So much for simplification. 😤 Personally, I think charging more for accuracy is RIDICULOUS. There are many AI options out there, and I hope competition drives prices down. Yes, these models are expensive to run—but billions are being spent on data centers, and it feels like we’re footing the bill through taxes. ⏳ I’m not impressed with GPT-5’s first few days. Only time will tell if it improves. For now, I’m staying skeptical and watching closely. 💬 CURIOUS TO HEAR FROM YOU—HAS GPT-5 BEEN A WIN OR A LETDOWN SO FAR? DROP YOUR THOUGHTS BELOW!
