This week was not easy to choose. There were so many powerful pieces shared in our community, but with Memorial Day upon us, two poems stood out in a deeply meaningful way. Congratulations to @Cynthia Keffer for being our Poet of the Week! 🏆 Her poems “Salute” and “Lord of All” reminded us what poetry is truly about… honoring sacrifice, sharing faith, healing hearts, and speaking the words many people struggle to say out loud. One poem saluted the fallen with dignity and respect. The other brought comfort, grace, and hope. Together, they carried the spirit of Memorial Day beautifully. Hi Jason and hi everybody! This is Michael Teferi here! I just want to share my latest poem. Please let me know your thoughts and opinions about it with me! “Surviving One’s Past” Survival signifies that action has taken place to everyone's fervor Underneath the underneath what is supposed to be tranquil yet extraordinarily tubular Realizing the extent to which faith and purpose lead the way Very much a synthesis as to why the sky has turned so gray In conjunction with the alternating currents to dignify one's presence Veritas is an engaged moment that truthfully showcases us the most beautiful reverence Into the forsaken elements that show me why this passion and grit sets the forefront Needing the emptiness delivers the essential opportunities to get the deliverance Getting to those in need of stupendous chances to rectify the situation Only pertaining to the moments that allow us to appreciate the difference Necessary connections deliver the best case scenario for life to be led Electrifying the world going somewhere does an everyday set Seeking the liberty to focus the energy for safe keeping Practically sharing the dividends go the security for people in mourning Act with confidence via the moment that took your breath away to share such love Sowing hatred is never good, so it leaves me to bother and go above Timing keeps us at a distance no matter what we aim to find, such that the different paths showcase the same qualities that everyone will lose out in a bind

This community is changing right before our eyes. Not because of algorithms.Not because of ads. Not because of luck. Because YOU keep showing up. Every poem posted… Every comment left… Every late-night thought poured onto a page… Every person brave enough to hit “submit”… That’s what built this. Look at these leaderboards. Look at this momentum. Look at the friendships forming here every single day. We are no longer “just another poetry group.” We are building AUTHORS. We are building CONFIDENCE. We are building LEGACIES. Some of you came here scared to share a single poem… Now you’re published poets in anthology books sold on Amazon. That’s crazy when you really stop and think about it. And we’re JUST getting started. So here’s my challenge to everybody: POST SOMETHING TODAY. A poem. A thought. A comment. A challenge. A conversation. Do not sit quietly on the sidelines watching everyone else build the future YOU belong in, too. The poets who grow here aren’t always the most talented… They’re the ones who keep showing up. Let’s light this place up today. Let’s make the algorithm nervous.
