An author swap would be a 1 to 1 swap to mention each other's book in your newsletters. You can post that you want to do a swap (that's the long list of author swaps) or you can just apply for swaps that are posted. You'll use your book funnel landing page as the link for the swap and book funnel will track how many times the other person sent clicks to your link. That gets you a share average and you'll see those averages posted. For a promo, one person hosts and multiple authors can participate. BF creates a landing page with all the covers and links to all the books. Everybody in the promo gets a special link but it all goes to the same landing page. Everyone shares their link in their newsletter and socials to drive traffic to the landing page. You earn a reputation score based on how many clicks your link gets. Each host gets to set the rules of their swap or promo, so you can read through those to find one that fits best. Some may be for reader magnets (newsletter builders) and others are for sales only, some could be a mix. For sales, some will specify wide or KU only and again some are both.
