Nobody cares (and that's the point)
This one was painful when I learned it. Nobody cares. And you won't get the results you want by default. Fast forward 3-4 years with no progress. What's the story? "I didn't work because I was too tired, too embarrassed." And your friends and family will say "it's okay, don't worry, don't work too hard." That feels nice. But it doesn't change anything. You'd still be in the exact same place. That should scare you a little. It scares me. The truth is, results are the only thing that matters. I have that on a post-it note stuck to my monitor. What's the story you don't want to be telling in 3 years?

Does anyone else suffer from imposter syndrome when starting something new? That's why I never tell anyone until I have done my research, implemented my new routine and am already half way towards my goal - because it only takes the slightest criticism during this phase and I am about to drop my goal. Once I know what I am doing, I get confident enough that no criticism can stop me.

What do you think is productive but isn't?
Sunday reflection. What do I think is productive, but actually isn't? For me it was a lot of stuff that felt like work. Planning the plan. Researching one more course. Reorganising my notes. Watching videos about productivity (the irony). It feels good because it looks like progress. But nothing actually ships. Take a pen and write down your list. Be honest. Then look at next week and see how much of your time is going to things on it.

I would safe so much time but the ‚feel good factor‘ would be removed without those time wasting activities. Constantly grinding on a long term goal can be so tedious.
