Experimental crochet…how kids can crochet freestyle without a pattern
In my book ( 2018) I explain how a child wanted to make a blanket for her doll. However She didn’t know how to keep it flat and she said….oooo look I made a nest! I also have an absolute beginner project in the book which can be done after they have learned to make a chain length. I call it Beastie Brooches. (Or hook in anywhere) Yesterday two children were doing this. The young boy made his Beestie Bear (Alex) He enjoys making mixed media pictures so he stuck this onto his card. His older sister had more control and decided it would make a bowl… I said if you put a handle on it , it would be a basket. She was soooo pleased! The video is my grandson. ….”whatever it turns out to be”. He made a Light Saber!

Saturday class… lots of progress
Two new kids made bracelets and a collage. Florence made a yarn bag, and began another for great grandma. Did you make your yarn bag yet? Two children began the beastie brooch featured in my first book. One turned into Alex the bear and the other turned into a basket…yeah! Another young lady made a hat for her bat! It had a bullion bobble!

Very talented kids. They must have a great teacher.
What can you make using a latch hook?
Rugs?…. because that is what it was originally made for. Anything? I have been using a latch hook to crochet for over 10 years…because I can Mixed media projects? Kids love this easy way to crochet, it’s fun! Because it’s easier to get started than traditional methods. Garments? It’s experimental and you don’t need to learn how to follow a pattern Easy stuff? You only need to learn two stitches to get started! Easy kids projects? I have made a list of over 50 easy kids projects.

Great inspiration. Thanks for sharing. 💕
Wicked Wednesday ? Catch up poll too.
I started this LIVE initially because I was meeting up with a couple of students who couldn’t make Saturday class. Unfortunately this didn’t work for them. I then met up with some of our cheerleaders here, but no one could guarantee we could commit to it. Me too. Let me know in the comments if you still want Wicked Wednesday LIVES. My purpose on Skool is to find and teach those who want to learn Crochet Art. A small percentage comes from other Skool communities, so I need to concentrate on other traffic sources as well, ie YouTube, email list, Substack, etc So I do apologise if I my time here is limited. I want to give a big thank you for those who still comment and contribute to this community, especially those who are actively learning or teaching using a latch hook. I will be trying to get more videos on YouTube
