Sorry @Paul Chenoweth my fault I missed this and didn't cover it on the call. I recommend you have a talk without slides if you can, as it cuts down on the number of things that can go wrong 😉 Without slides you just need to make sure the mic is working. With slides you need to make sure well before hand how they are handled. Are you giving the file to someone to put on their computer (I have a usb on my keyring with a number of my presentations there always ready to go). Or are you plugging in your machine... do you have power cables and the right connectors for the projector? I tend not to worry about lighting unless the event is being filmed. Then it is more the event organisers problem than mine, but you may need to determine the limits of your movement on stage. (That is why TED has the red dot to stand on - it is lit for video, go off that and you are not lit). Virtual is different again. What platform are you presenting on? Get familiar with the Zoom or Google meet interface. Know how to share, if necessary. Make sure your lighting and sound is good, your background is not distracting and you have everything you need to hand (including water!). Let me know if you want any other specifics I have missed here.

Celebrating an Audiobook Win 🙌
🎉 Big audiobook news! The other day I received an email from ACX letting me know that one of my audiobooks was selected for the August Monthly Deal! That means Audible is featuring it at a discounted price throughout the month. I'm especially excited because this isn't my first time being selected. The last time one of my audiobooks was included in a Monthly Deal, I saw a noticeable increase in downloads, which translated into additional Audible royalty income. It's always fun to see one of your backlist titles get a fresh wave of visibility. One thing to know is that this isn't something you can apply for. ACX/Audible selects the titles they want to feature, and while they don't publicly share the exact criteria, being an established, professionally produced audiobook with strong listener appeal and solid performance can help put your title in the running. Ultimately, the editorial team makes the final selections. Moments like this are a great reminder that publishing isn't always about launching something brand new. Sometimes a book you've already created gets a second chance to reach new listeners and generate additional income months—or even years—after publication. 🎧 Question for my fellow authors: - Do you currently have an audiobook on Audible? - Have you ever had one of your titles selected for an ACX/Audible Monthly Deal? I'd love to hear what kind of results you saw!

I am curious @Krista Brea, what are your plans to support/promote this audiobook selection? I am interested to see how you leverage this external promotion to get the most out of it.

@Madalina Covrig I find myself resistant to grabbing it right now... because I am flat out (If you see the AI comments in my comment below you will see what I mean 😂). But update us here if you find the book is worth recommending... 🤩

@Madalina Covrig I agree, and also I have found a book that didn't speak to me, revisited later was then life-changing and vice versa.
