Morning Beverages, Coffee, and Functional Mushrooms
I'm sitting here drinking coffee and wondering what I should post, so I figured I would ask you guys what your morning drink of choice is if you have one? For me I drink coffee in the morning, organic black coffee, duh. But something I like to do is I put coconut oil and salt to extend the release of the caffeine, as well as for the short chain fatty acids, as well as to retain magnesium with the salt. There's a lot of metabolic benefits to drinking coffee this way and I highly recommend it for coffee drinkers! Something I also like to do sometimes is put functional mushrooms from host defense in it, so Reishi extract, or a blend with lion's mane. There are lots of cognitive and overall benefits to drinking coffee this way, and you don't have to pay an absurd amount for things like Ryze Coffee. One of the first things I do with clients often is get them a Reishi, Chaga, Cordyceps, and lion's mane extract/supplement. These mushrooms were considered one of the most valuable assets in ancient society because of their incredible benefits, so take advantage of the fact that they're like $15 on amazon! I love Host Defense, but there are plenty of good brands. There's my tip for the day, again drop what you like to drink in the morning and why!
