Your first collection?
What was your first collection? Are you still into it? I used to be obsessed with owls, every time I travelled I came back with new figurines! I even had t-shirts and bags with owls printed on them 😅

Yes, I have a few collections! Minerals/rocks shaped as eggs, sea-shells, and a gold coin collection :)

@Valeria Ragonese : I too like them in their rough shape, but the polished shape allows you to really see the details in the rocks/minerals :)
Introduction Post!
Welcome, Hoppers! Let's start by getting to know each other with a short introduction. I want to see your (current?) favourite hobby-related tool 😁 My name is_____________, I'm from ____________. My favourite hobby-related tool is________. I'll start! My name is Valeria, I'm from Italy (currently in London). My favourite hobby-related tool is a water brush. Even though I have so many (so so many) paint brushes, I always end up using this little dude here. It's just...perfect ⭐

@Valeria Ragonese : trying to find wider angled shots! But here is a phone shot, can kinda see the planters?

@Valeria Ragonese : yup! I even made sure at the bottom, there was a mesh liner that allowed water to drain through but not the soil, and that on the inside, plastic keep the wood from being exposed to constant moisture, don't want them deteriorating too quickly.
Any language learner?
When we are young we are most likely forced to learn a language or two (I remember HATING English in high school, I sucked!) but what about now? What’s your relationship with languages? Are you currently studying one/would love to learn one? I’m focusing on getting back to French at the moment (without forgetting the Japanese I’ve been studying for the past 4 years)

the very first language that I learned was Vietnamese. My mom, who is Vietnamese in the first year of my life only spoke Vietnamese - and at that time I lived in Lagos, Nigeria. My father had a job there. Our next post was Japan, so once I was in pre-school, I learned English.

@Valeria Ragonese Yes, it is. Chinese has 4 tones, Vietnamese has up to 8 tones ;)
What's a hobby you want to try but...
.... feel too intimidated to start? Either because it looks waaay too difficult, or expensive, or because it requires special tools? I have always wanted to try woodworking! I've been thinking of taking classes for a while, now. 🙃 What about you?

I would live to try paragliding. I don't know, there is just something about flying through the air, no motor, just the sound of the wind.
Most expensive hobby-related impulse purchase?
I once woke up with the sudden desire of learning bartending skills, and instead of buying a couple of bottles of alcohol and making a mess in the kitchen like any normal person, I went and bought a 1-month in-person course (about £1,500). I also used the skills I learnt, exactly 0 times outside of that course. 😑

I bought these electronic keyboards ... that the advert made it look really cool, hahaha, but yeah, spent $1 on these devices and well, it was not a good buy.
