Hi all - I’m currently in Ireland doing the 4th annual International Songwriting Retreat at IIMS - I just wanted to let you know that I’ve put 4 meetups in the calendar. A general coffee hour first to meet and greet, followed by a songwriting critique, a production critique, and a Q&A session. Hoping you all can mark this in your own calendars and join when they happen! More modules will be loading in this community after I return to Canada on the 19th, as well as future meetups. Rob.

Thanks for the update. I hope you're having a great time in Ireland.
Welcome to The Hitmakers Circle!
Welcome to The Hitmakers Circle! I'm so glad you're here. Whether you're writing your very first song or you've been making music for years, you've joined a community of people who share one common goal: writing better songs and growing together as artists, songwriters, and producers. Over the coming weeks and months, I'll be adding new courses, live Q&A sessions, songwriting challenges, production breakdowns, industry insights, and behind-the-scenes looks at my own writing process. My goal is to share the techniques, lessons, successes, and failures I've experienced during more than 30 years in the music industry. This isn't just a place to watch videos. It's a place to ask questions, share your music, receive constructive feedback, collaborate with other members, and continue growing as a songwriter. Let's get to know each other! Please introduce yourself by telling us: - Your name and where you're from - What instruments you play (if any) - Your favourite style of music - How long you've been writing songs - One songwriting goal you'd love to achieve this year - If you could co-write with any artist or songwriter, who would it be? Don't worry if you're just getting started. Every professional songwriter was once a beginner, and everyone here is at a different stage of their journey. I encourage you to jump into the conversations, support one another, and never be afraid to ask questions. Some of the best lessons come from simply being part of the discussion. Thanks for being here. I can't wait to hear your music. Rob

I’m excited to be in this group – thank you Rob for setting it up. I really appreciated your mentorship in TSA. · I live in Brighton, UK · I can read music and play several instruments poorly – piano, guitar and ukulele. I enjoy focusing on lyrics. · My first love was folk (I grew up in the Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell era). But I enjoy all genres – I subscribe to the view that there are only two kinds of music, good and bad. I’m up for anything. Bring it on! · I started writing songs when I was seven. It was an instinctive way of expressing my sadness at moving to another area away from my friends. · This year I’d like to increase the number of people I collaborate with. I enjoy all the various tribulations and triumphs of creating a song together. It would be great to complete and release one or two this year. · There are so many people I’d love to co-write with. Back in the day, it would have been Paul Simon. Graceland is one of my favourite albums. Now (in my dreams), Raye, Ellie Goulding, Freya Ridings, Dermot Kennedy, London Grammar (Heidi Reid), Rob Wells :}, Paul Statham, Shelly Poole… a lot of the people I see in this group. Looking forward to what lies ahead! x
