Balm or glue?!
Hey!! I’ve done two lash lifts today both using balm. First one the lashes went on easy peasy, the second my god! Took over 30 mins to get them on and still couldn’t manage to get them all on!I had cleansed the lashes before hand too. So questions! 1 - what am I doing wrong! 2 - do you use a glue or a balm? And what are your favourites?

I’m having issues with lash lifts too!! I can’t seem to get the lashes to stay stuck down after step 1 but I did see Lis posted a little hack using the lifted shield protector things?

@Nicola Jackson I use glue but I want to try balm next! I have both but wasn’t sure If I was the problem with the glue 🫣 I ordered some of the little shield things but for my last lift I used some cotton to try and keep the lashes on but it didn’t really work 🤣
Any advice when starting your lash business💗
Hi girls, I’m newly qualified in lashing lifting & tinting! I’m so glad I found this community and I’m just wondering if any of you have any advice when starting out with setting up a lash business and building up clients💗

Don’t forget obviously you have your tax free £1k but the likelihood is your going to spend more out than your going to earn for a little while. I’ve learnt that when signing up as self employed if your business costs are higher than your business income you can claim the tax back (if you have a full time job you already pay tax on, the self employed loss comes off your tax you pay. Or it can be rebated or taken off your tax for the following years!) I found this really interesting and helpful when it comes to business financials!!

@Georgia Knott it really depends on your situation babe. I’m employed full time and do lashes self employed in my spare time so I’ll be registering myself as self employed via HMRC gov website from January this year and then by January 2026 you’ll need to file a self assessment form for April 2024/2025 where on that you put your income and there should be a section that you can put your expenses. From there the tax man will work out how much tax you either do or don’t pay and you’ll get it credited in one way or another! I’ve never done it before but this is what I’ve gathered through research xx

I’ve changed adhesives so many times since starting in January- started with extreme plus and loved it at first but got so many stickies, moved to advance again stickies but I did love advance for a more magnetic stick, and now trying advance pro which so far I’ve loved!
