Stop telling yourself you're going to have a good day. The first time something doesn't go your way the whole thing is ruined. You spent the morning setting yourself up for disappointment. Try this instead: "I'm excited for the challenges the day is going to throw at me." That's not pessimism. That's accuracy. The day is going to have friction in it. Traffic. A difficult person. Something that doesn't go to plan. Something that requires more of you than you expected to give. If your baseline is "good day" then friction is failure. If your baseline is "I'm here for the challenges" then friction is just the day doing what days do. You're not disappointed. You're not derailed. You're just in it. A good day isn't a day where nothing goes wrong. It's a day where you handled what came at you. Set the baseline accordingly.
