🚀 Building My First AI Receptionist for Clinics — Looking for Advice
Hey everyone! 👋 I’m currently learning n8n and AI automation, and I’ve decided to focus on building an AI voice receptionist for clinics. My goal is to automate things like: - Answering incoming calls - Handling common patient questions - Booking/rescheduling appointments - Following up with patients - Reducing missed calls and lost appointments I’m still in the learning and building stage, and my goal is to create a working demo first and then approach clinics for my first client. For those who have already built voice AI solutions: What tools would you recommend for the voice agent, phone calls, appointment booking, and n8n integration? Also, what mistakes should a beginner avoid when building their first AI receptionist? Would really appreciate any advice or experience from the community. 🙌 Happy to connect with anyone working on something similar! 🤝🚀

@Drayson McLaughlin @Drayson McLaughlin Got it! 👍 Since you’ve worked with AI voice agents before, I’m sure your experience will be valuable. I’ll keep sharing my progress as I build mine. 🚀

Your First 50 Customers Matter More Than You Think
Everyone wants to scale, but your first 50 customers are where everything gets validated. They tell you whether your offer actually solves a real problem, and the feedback you get from them is worth far more than the money they pay. At that stage, don’t obsess over maximizing profit. Obsess over learning. If 50 people genuinely get results from what you’ve built, there’s no reason it can’t eventually work for 500 or even 5,000. The first 50 aren’t there to make you rich. They’re there to prove you’ve built something people actually want.

Great point! The first 50 customers are about validation and learning, not maximizing profit. Build something people genuinely want first, then scale it.
What Does Everyone Do? 💼

I’m currently a Software Engineering Lead, but I’m learning AI automation and n8n with the goal of building my own AI automation business. Right now, I’m focusing on practical projects, especially AI voice receptionists and appointment automation for clinics. So I’d say I’m somewhere between Developer/Software Engineer and future Automation Agency/Consultant 😄🚀
📞 How Do You Find Leads for Cold Outreach?
Hey everyone! 👋 I’m currently learning AI automation and starting to reach out to small businesses. I’m curious — how do you find good-quality business leads with phone numbers or business emails for cold calling/outreach? Do you mainly use Google Maps, LinkedIn, lead-generation tools, business directories, or something else? I’m especially interested in reaching business owners or decision-makers, rather than general reception numbers. Would love to know what methods or tools are working well for you. Thanks! 🚀

@Dylan Murray I'm curious—what was the biggest challenge you faced in your first year of building ClickFlow, and how did you overcome it?

@Dylan Murray Thanks, Dylan! That's inspiring. Consistency and delivering value definitely make a difference. Did your first three clients come from cold outreach, content, or referrals?
