Update 4
As mentioned before the potential client looked like my number was blocked on Sunday. I Dmed his business profile on IG Monday (the plan was to send the invoice via PayPal today 8/21) there was no response. I was able to text the number on Wednesday no response. First question: is 500/month 15%-30% of revenue too low for a beginner? (The idea is to lower the commission as I increase the rate for example 1-6k 15-30%, 7-15k 15-20%, 15-30k+ 15%) Seconds question: I followed up twice, should i still send the invoice or keep it moving? He’s basically doing the fashion boutique thing on hard mode (in person events, traveling to different cities/countries, etc) his plan was was launch his Shopify store today 8/21

Update 3
I just realized I’ve been in the online marketing space for 11 years (2015-2026) and it’s been my family since then pressuring me to shut down the website, store, etc and get a “real job”; then I wasn’t able to keep up with demands of the company and ended up being let go and the cycle would start all over again (I had an undiagnosed autoimmune disease at the time). Now I have clear plans to stick with copywriting since copywriting works whether it’s words on a page (paper) or words on a computer and through copywriting I can choose my own hours instead of worrying which job is going to accept my medical restrictions/work accommodations. At this point waiting to hear back from a potential client I met on the way to my 9-5 last Friday morning. They said they wanted start this Friday 21st, I sent them the low risk offer (500 to help with social media marketing) explained that if we were a good fit I would ask for 500/moth +15%. The next time I tried to text him i got an error message saying blocking on this phone was activated, I guess he thought I was asking for money upfront, not sure but before that happened I followed him and his business account on IG. I messaged him yesterday explaining that I was giving general ideas and pricing then asked if he still wanted to move forward on Friday, but haven’t heard anything back yet.

@MaryaM Fatima The reason I feel like i messed up with the client is I talked about how Ai can help since he was basically learning/doing everything himself besides maybe 2 employees and I offered to run the Ai for them, i’m over here thinking he’s running it himself…..until I see the posts he makes on IG they’re sub par at best. Lol
Update 2
Long story short, I’ve been caught up in shiny object syndrome for the last 6+ months. For example Ai agencies, Ai funnel building, etc when everything basically comes back to copywriting. It doesn’t make sense to buy more courses since all of them use copy in one form or another. This is day 4 of me officially locking in and blocking out all the other distractions. Finishing the 8hr course, the plan is to practice snd refine my persuasive and storytelling skills into shorter emails (I’m used to long form blogs or trying to fill landing pages with content first), start outreaching, then keep consuming content like the 16 hr course and the copywriting master class in classroom tab. Let’s get it!!!!

@Vibhuti Singh not yet, I realized my mistake from October 2025 to about jun was i so busy watching the videos trying to learn everything instead of practicing what I learned. My aim from now on is to balance both learning and application to compound results and sucess.
Update
Long story short I’ve been in the online space on and off for 7 years but never profitable. I started with affiliate marketing, went to blogging, then to posting online reviews with affiliate links, then to Amazon fba, back to affiliate marketing, then to Copywriting. Lost motivation because I let people convince me stuff like this won’t work for one reason or another. Recently my rent went up and days at work went down, so I’m rewatching the 8 hr copywriting mega course and using the resources in the copywriting starter kit so I can get clients and leave the job in the next 60-90 days. I understand persuasion and how to tell stories, it’s time for me to stop getting in my own way.
Update
Not gonna lie, got caught up in trying to learn too many things at once. My plan moving forward is to focus on copywriting and outreach then add in other skills like code academy to understand how copywriting works together with websites, apps, etc to make them more persuasive and make the business owner more money
