🕯️ Longest Night: Christ Our Light
As we approach the winter season, many churches observe the “Longest Night” or “Blue Christmas” service—a time to acknowledge that the Christmas season isn’t joyful for everyone. Some are grieving, lonely, overwhelmed, or walking through difficult transitions. Yet even in the darkest seasons, Scripture reminds us: Christ is our Light. ✨ 1. A Night That Meets Us in Our Reality The Longest Night recognizes that life isn’t always festive. It creates space to be honest before God—bringing Him our pain, questions, and burdens without pretending everything is “merry.” Jesus meets us where we truly are, not where we pretend to be. ✨ 2. Light Shines in the Darkness John 1:5 declares: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” No matter how heavy our season feels, Christ’s light is stronger. His presence breaks through sorrow, fear, and uncertainty. ✨ 3. Jesus Understands Our Grief The birth of Christ doesn’t erase suffering, but it transforms it. He came as Emmanuel—God with us—in joy and in sorrow. On the longest night of the year, we’re reminded that God is close to the brokenhearted and brings comfort to those who mourn. ✨ 4. Hope for Those Waiting Some of us are waiting for healing, restoration, provision, or clarity. The Longest Night teaches us that waiting is not wasted. Christ’s light guides us step by step, even when the path isn’t fully visible. What does “Christ our Light” mean to you in this season? Where do you need His hope, comfort, or clarity right now?

God is all about perfect timing. I've never heard of the “Longest Night” or “Blue Christmas” services. I was planning to go to candlelight service on Christmas Eve with my son this year. We haven't been in many years. But I just can't stand to see him today, not after what he has done yet again. He is 23 and a recovering drug addict. I won't get into more details, just to say that he is clean of the hard stuff for the past year, then last night I was dealt another devastating blow when I found out he stole money from me again. I am living in public housing on disability and unable to work. God has taken care of me and provided a home and a little money to pay off my debts and I am truly blessed. But last night was yet another betrayal that broke my heart all over again. I cried, big ugly cry, and prayed, and called out to God for help and protection, and strength as I am unable to bring myself to cut my son out of my life to protect myself. I cried and God came. I felt his presence with me as I prayed. Then this morning as I try to rest after no sleep yet, I come here and receive this message from Him through you.. God is so good. He is there shining a light into my darkness last night and this morning and I know he will always be with me leading me through. I have no real peace in my life, no joy, and since becoming disabled I can't seem to find what His purpose is for me anymore. But I believe as I heal I will be able to see more clearly, and feel his presence more strongly, and if I keep my eyes on HIM and keep looking for that light in the dark HE will guide my path. HE will heal my broken heart and shattered soul. Thank you so much for this message. God's perfect timing yet again. Just what I needed at this moment. Merry Christmas to each of you and many blessings going forward.

@Helen Munger You are God's precious child. HE loves you and longs for you to ask. HE WANTS you to come to Him for every need and desire you have. It is not selfish to ask. Don't withhold the asking from Him. He is waiting for it. Knock and the door shall be opened to you. Ask and you shall receive.
🕊️⚔️ Spiritual Warfare in Holiday Stress
The holiday season brings joy—but it can also bring pressure, exhaustion, and spiritual attacks that try to steal our peace. When stress rises, the enemy often uses distraction, discouragement, and conflict to pull our hearts away from God. But we are never without weapons. During this season, let’s remember to: ✨ Put on the Armor of God daily ✨ Guard our hearts and minds with Scripture ✨ Pray for peace over our homes and families ✨ Stay rooted in God’s presence, not the holiday rush Even in stressful moments, God gives us strength, clarity, and victory. You are not fighting alone—He is with you.

This time of year can also bring deep feelings of sorrow, loneliness, and longing for things hoped and prayed for but left unseen. It is a kinds of spiritual warfare that many don't recognize as such. I pray that God brings healing to the broken hearted, love and lasting relationships to the lonely, and receiving of what has been hoped for and prayed for if it is God's will. Drive away the negative spiritual influences that rob us all, and fill us with Gods joy, peace, and hopes fulfilled.

🕊️ Advent Theme: Peace
As we move through Advent, we pause today to reflect on the deep and lasting peace that Jesus brings. Not the kind the world gives—temporary and fragile—but a peace that calms our hearts, steadies our minds, and anchors our souls. What Advent Peace Means: 🕊️ Peace in His Presence Jesus is Emmanuel—God with us. His nearness brings comfort in our chaos and hope in our waiting. 🕊️ Peace in Our Circumstances Even when life feels uncertain, His peace reminds us that we are held by a faithful and unchanging God. 🕊️ Peace with One Another Christ calls us to be peacemakers, reflecting His love through grace, kindness, and forgiveness. 🕊️ Peace for Our Hearts He quiets our fears and replaces anxiety with assurance: “My peace I give you.” As we journey through Advent, may we slow down, breathe deeply, and receive the peace only Jesus can give. He is our Prince of Peace—today and always.

@Charlene Miller I struggle with inner peace around challenging people too. It helps me when I visualize laying the problem at Christ's feet for Him to handle for me. Of course I then have to practice not picking it up again. But that process has been helping me.
🎶 The Story Behind “O Holy Night”
O Holy Night is one of the most beloved Christmas hymns—filled with awe, hope, and the promise of redemption. But the story behind it is just as powerful as the song itself. ✨ How It All Began In 1847, a French poet named Placide Cappeau was asked to write a Christmas poem for his parish. Though not deeply religious himself, he was moved by the Gospel of Luke and penned the words that would become O Holy Night. He later asked composer Adolphe Adam to create the music—and together they birthed a song that would touch hearts across generations. 🔥 A Song That Broke Barriers When church leaders later discovered Cappeau’s political views and Adam’s Jewish heritage, the song was banned in France. But the people loved it too much—it kept spreading, sung in homes, churches, and gatherings despite the ban. 📡 A Moment in History In 1906, during the very first AM radio broadcast in history, O Holy Night became the first song ever played on radio, sung live by Reginald Fessenden. Across the airwaves, people heard: “Fall on your knees…” A song of worship echoing into a new era. 🌟 Why It Still Moves Us Today The message never grows old: A Savior has come. Hope has arrived. Chains are broken. The weary world truly can rejoice. O Holy Night isn’t just a hymn—it’s a reminder of the miracle of Christ’s birth and the hope His coming brings into our lives.

Such a beautiful song. It always stirs such a deep emotional connection for me. This is the first time I have heard the story behind it. The story reminds me that no matter what the world may try, God reigns over all and the Holy Spirit moves within each of us and continues to spread God's word and His promises and hope. Merry Christmas everyone.

✨ Jesus the King: Why His Birth Changes Everything
The birth of Jesus isn’t just a historical moment—it’s the turning point of all eternity. When God stepped into the world as a baby, everything changed. Hope entered humanity. Light broke through darkness. Love took on flesh and walked among us. Why His Birth Matters So Much: 🌟 He came to save us. Jesus didn’t come to judge the world but to rescue it. His birth marks the beginning of God’s salvation plan for every single one of us. 🌟 He brought peace and reconciliation. Through Him, we’re no longer distant from God. His arrival opened the door for restored relationship and true peace. 🌟 He is the fulfillment of God’s promises. Centuries of prophecy, longing, and expectation all point to this moment—Emmanuel, God with us. 🌟 He brings hope that lasts. No matter what season of life we’re in, the birth of Jesus reminds us that God is present, faithful, and working all things for our good. As we reflect on His birth, let’s remember: Jesus isn’t just part of the story—He is the King, the Savior, the One who changes everything. His birth rewrites our past, shapes our present, and secures our eternal future. Let’s celebrate Him with hearts full of gratitude and awe. 🙏✨
