I got a beautiful surprise when @Tova Saul of Holy Land Cats joined Empowering Animals after @Thomas York shared Tova’s work, and I reached out to her about adding the organization to our Classroom. ❤️🐾 To me, that is an honor. Someone doing such beautiful work trusts us with helping bring awareness to what she is doing for the animals. I ran a feral cat rescue in the 90s. I single-handedly trapped, altered, rehomed, and raised the funds to pay for it all. Having done that work myself, I understand some of what Tova has taken on and the dedication it takes to keep doing it year after year. Tova has been rescuing animals in Israel for about 40 years from her home in Jerusalem’s Old City. She responds to calls about injured cats, abandoned kittens and animals in distress. Over the years, she estimates she has helped well over 1,000 orphaned kittens and injured cats, while also personally taking more than 1,000 street cats to be spayed or neutered. Her work includes TNR, veterinary care, fostering, rescue and finding homes for cats who can be adopted. Working with animals in any capacity is both rewarding and hard on the heart. It takes a special soul to dedicate their life to them. I believe everyone in this community is nodding in agreement right now. So please join me in welcoming Tova and give her some extra love for everything she is doing for the street cats in Jerusalem. Welcome to Empowering Animals, Tova. What a beautiful blessing to have you here. ❤️🐾

These three brothers went up for adoption on Friday. Shelter named them Theodore, Simon and Alvin. Theo was so friendly from the get go and Alvin extremely shy and would run away. After two weeks he was running to us for pets. I'm sure they will do well. They loved their older foster brother Hobbs.

We foster kittens and I'll have to post them as we do. Our foster fails though are: Peach, Hobbs, Rosey and Katniss. Rosie is the youngest but she runs the house.

We've been fostering for at least three years now. Here are some of our others. I promise I'll stop posting now. 😀

It is time to come together again and choose the organization that will receive Empowering Animals’ October donation. I’m so happy to share that we have $35 to donate this month! That is almost doubled since we began in June. How wonderful is that? We are growing for the animals! ❤️ This month, we have three hopeful opportunities to protect endangered Palm Cockatoos, help save pangolins from extinction, and care for rescued elephants in Thailand. ❤️ People For Wildlife: Palm Cockatoo Project People For Wildlife is working to protect endangered Palm Cockatoos in Australia. Because these remarkable birds raise only one chick about every two years and old nesting trees are disappearing, the project creates and protects nesting hollows to give future generations a better chance to thrive. ❤️ Pangolin Crisis Fund The Pangolin Crisis Fund helps protect all eight pangolin species from poaching and illegal trafficking. Donations support projects around the world that rescue and rehabilitate pangolins, protect their habitats, combat wildlife trafficking, and work with local communities. ❤️ Pangea Elephant Sanctuary: Bring Kariba Home Kariba, who is currently healing and waiting for approval to travel. Pangea needs to raise approximately $115,000 for Kariba’s move from Belgium to her new sanctuary home in Portugal once she is fully healed, along with her transitional care. We also have a special way to support GRACE gorillas through the beautiful gorilla shirts available at Cause & Chaos Graphic Tees, created with artwork donated by @Kate Bullock especially for Empowering Animals. I received my gorilla shirt on Sunday, and it is gorgeous! I’m so happy to be able to support GRACE
