That’s a good one!
Michael Saylor's Self Custody "Strategy"
Has anyone ever thought what the self custody playbook must look like for MSTR / Strategy or any other company buying up BTC 🪙 What cold wallets are they using? Are they using Shamir secret backups? MultiSig? Multiple geographical division of cold wallet assets etc. @Ted Carr @Chauncey Hutter any thoughts? 🤔
Michael Saylor's Self Custody "Strategy"

At the Bitcoin conference in Vegas during a closed door VIP session, Michael Saylor said his company would not verify their bitcoin holdings or how they custody them. This raised many eyebrows from the OG BTC crowd (don’t trust, only verify) but Saylor just said it would be foolish on his part to reveal where and how they hold their bitcoin. He is not looking to invite hackers to cause unwanted problems. Whether you agree or not, this is what Saylor said.

@Eugene De Souza My personal opinion … stack as much of your own BTC in your self custody — but then, go out of your way to generate maximum extra revenue to purposefully compile as much old broken down fiat money as you can and invest in whatever financial product(s) Michael Saylor’s company offers that matches your personal needs. Saylor IS the GOAT of Digital MONEY … (Bitcoin) He is lapping the business world at the moment and he’s so far ahead of everyone else that no one is gonna catch him . In 10 years (no later than 20) Saylor will be the richest person (known) on earth. Many people will just follow what he does and build significant wealth. I recommend doing the same.https://youtu.be/nGm04HUbJ3w?si=AU_x7nBO_2xDXTOB
3 Incredible Speeches
BTC Prague has been incredible. I'm listening to all the talks while walking to the gym each day and my brain is exploding. Here are 3 talks that stood out as being EXCEPTIONAL. I have shared these with my friends + family and I'll be re-watching the first 2 again FOR SURE! 1) https://youtu.be/Fw5Z2LHjqAo?si=AXDhvXOJXCvk9kDb 2) https://youtu.be/RsigFIG98VM?si=lyPe2VppWB77zjes 3) https://youtu.be/q2oIbYSFEa8?si=QiPGDO3XUbmTmUoA

Thanks for the heads up
This is what's happening right now with bitcoin
Bitcoin price just hit another all time high of $123,000 USD. But look: the price of bitcoin has always been volcanic. You can look back and see that BTC's price likes to stay dormant and do "nothing" for months, and then suddenly goes boom. Roughly 90% of BTC’s upside gains have come in 30 day spurts. Miss these 30 day bursts and you'd miss the gains. This is because for all the "dormant" months, weak hands sell at the same rate that diamond hands buy. Eventually the diamond hand buyers out last all the weak hand sellers and the BOOM we see an eruption in price. Could this change? In the future, could we see 60, 90, or even 180 day spurts? Yes, and that's what we may be seeing now... Here's why: Price sideways = equal amount of buying & selling happening. Price down = more selling than buying happening. Price up = more buying than selling. But we're moving into an era of WAY MORE buyers than sellers. Historically "retail" AKA regular everyday people like me, you and your neighbour are the ones who have pushed the price up with our paycheques. And when price goes up, retail likes to sell to take a profit. But now? There's a new type of buyer in town. A buyer who doesn't use paycheques, but uses infinite debt. A sophisticated buyer with infinitely deep pockets who doesn't ever plan on selling AND who doesn't plan on buying ANYTHING else except bitcoin... And this new type of buyer isn't alone. This new buyer is arriving in masses by the boatload. 100's of billionaires, mega corporations and even countries are buying BTC like they're life depends on it... because it does. Without bitcoin, they're doomed. They need it as much as we need it. The result? We're seeing massive buying pressure right now... Buying pressure like we've never seen before. And the craziest part? Retail (the sellers) are nowhere to be seen! Retail wallets are at VERY low activity levels. Very few are buying, even fewer are selling. It's the whale wallets that are seeing all the action...

@Eugene De Souza The 4 year BTC cycle is a real thing (I've watched 3 of them since 2014) however, in my opinion I think the 80% draw downs are over. We are gonna wish they were still in place because we all would love to get BTC at an 80% discount 24 to 30 months from now. My guess is going forward we're gonna see 30% to 40% drops but they will not last long ... a month later the price will have come on back up because of supply and demand (but remember: no one really knows for sure) One piece of advice I would share on this topic: If you understand bitcoin, it doesn't matter if the price drops 80% for 18 months (a "bear" market) ... that's actually good because you're getting a deal with your daily (or weekly) DCA (dollar cost averaging). Long term, the issue is not going to be what price did you pay for your bitcoin. The main thing you'll be concerned about is how much bitcoin did you buy, hold and properly protect using your own node and private self-custody protocols. 80% of the current BTC hodlers will sell some about of their bitcoin in the next 12 to 18 months during bitcoin's run to cross over $1M per coin. I recommend you hold on tight. The pricing we are all excited about today will be little rounding errors in 2035 when the bitcoin "gold rush" ends ... Stay humble -- Stack sats -- Smile and take care of your neighbor in need. We are in for a bumpy ride as we all navigate through the end of this decade. Bitcoin will make it much easier for many of us. Thank God for Bitcoin.
