He was late but says he was there on time?
If i had a team I GUARANTEE you we'd discuss this asap. If you don't know what this is, this golfer was given a 2-stroke penalty for being seconds late to his start on Thursday. He ended up missing the cut by 1 stroke. He fired his caddy today. This quote makes me want to take a driver to my head.

When you are on time you are late..... If you want to be on time you should arrive ahead of time. 🙊🙉🙈
Summer Reward Playbook - Install #1 'Build Your House'
Coach— This one—and the next three—are dedicated to one thing: Summer motivation and celebration. Because the truth is… most programs talk about summer. The best ones make it matter. Every player is building something this summer. Not a season. Not a highlight tape. A house. And whether they realize it or not… they’re working on it every single day. - Some will laying brick. - Some will skip days. - Some will cutting corners no one sees. But when the season shows up… everybody has to live in what they built. Story - 'The Old Carpenter' There was an old carpenter who had been building houses for over 40 years. One day, he walked into his boss’s office and said, “I’m ready to retire. I’m tired. I’ve done this a long time.” His boss nodded and said, “I understand. But I’ve got one last favor to ask… build me one more house.” The carpenter didn’t want to. He was ready to be done. But out of respect, he agreed. From day one, something was different. He cut corners. Used cheaper materials. Rushed through parts he used to take pride in. No one noticed. No one said anything. And honestly… he didn’t care. He was already thinking about what was next. A few months later, the house was finished. He went to his boss, handed him the keys, and said, “It’s done.” His boss smiled, took the keys… and handed them right back. “This is your house,” he said. “My gift to you for all your years of work.” And in that moment… it hit him. Every shortcut. Every rushed decision. Every time he didn’t give his best. He had to live in it. That’s summer. Your players are building their house will be building their house. - Every lift. - Every sprint. - Every day they show up… or don’t. They’re making decisions they’ll have to live in when the season gets here. 🔧 How to install it On the last day of school, tell this story. Then hold up a set of keys painted in your school colors. Tell your team: “At the end of the summer, we’re having a hamburger cookout. And the players who meet our attendance standard… will be handed the keys to the house they built.”

The old people always said "Everything you do during the night will be revealed during the day". Their saying probably related more to you being careful of doing something wrong because it has a funny way of coming out eventually. My mother is 84 years old and she loves using that phrase, lately she adds a 2nd verse and then says "Come to think about it, I am also an old person now." 🤣
BUILD THE MACHINE #3 - MAKE YOUR TEAM SMALLER
One of the best things we did as a staff was break our team down into small groups—what we called battalions. Instead of one big team of 50–60 players…we created groups of 6–8. Why? Because accountability changes when the group gets smaller. It’s one thing for a player to think: “I don’t want to let down 59 teammates.” That’s abstract. It’s another thing to think: “I can’t let down my 7 guys.” That’s personal. 🔒 HOW IT WORKED - Players were divided into small groups (battalions) - Each group had leadership within it - Players were accountable to their group daily - We even had different color shirts for each battalion (see pic) If a player messed up: - First time → individual consequence - Second time → the group was impacted Now it’s not just about discipline…it’s about ownership 💥 WHAT WE LEARNED Players will sometimes let themselves down. Very few will let their teammates down. 🎯 THE REAL WIN The most powerful part? Players started holding each other accountable. Not because coaches said so—but because they didn’t want to be the reason their group suffered. That’s when culture shifts. 🧠 TAKEAWAY FOR COACHES If you want better accountability: 👉 Make your team smaller inside the big team 👉 Create groups where everyone is seen 👉 Let players feel responsibility to each other Because behavior changes when it becomes personal On May 1 you will be able to track things like this daily inside Arena OVR—not just performance, but accountability and teammate behavior.

@Randy Jackson great stuff coach Randy. How did you go about selecting the players for the respective batallions?
Every coach had that one line… 😂
You know the one—Said it every single day…Didn’t always make sense…But somehow you’ll never forget it. Our OL coach at ULM, JB Grimes, used to say at least twice a day: “I’m not going to piss on your leg and tell you're sweating.” We didn’t fully understand it at the time…But we knew it meant business. 😆 👇 Drop yours below—Best coach phrases you’ve heard (or STILL say today) Let’s build the ultimate list. I’ll start collecting the best ones and turn it into a graphic for the community.

I always say "Praat is afdraand, Doen is opdraand". Loosely translated it says "Speaking is downhill, Doing is uphill" It means it is always easy to say something, the true test comes when we must do it.
Build this Community with Me
Coaches — I want this to be the most valuable community you’re part of. But I don’t want to guess… I want to build it with you. Quick question — what would help you the MOST right now? 👇 Drop a number (or comment if you’ve got something else): 1. Spring ball practice ideas 2. Culture / team building 3. Leadership & captains 4. Offense (Fast N Wide / scheme) 5. Player accountability (tracking, discipline, OVR-type ideas) 6. Motivation / weekly messaging to players Or just tell me straight—what do you need?

@Randy Jackson @Coach A we had something similar to the 1-word challenge from Jon Gordon, where players had to come up with their word. We then posted their words with their names on a brick-background. The idea was to physically build a wall at the entrance of the field with all the words engraved on the real life bricks. That didn't materialise, but we pasted it on the wall in the change room (locker room). Before they stepped on the field the idea in our minds was our opponents must first break down our wall if they want to beat us. The strength of our words and belief in our words made it more difficult to breach our wall. The words on the pic (our wall): Optimistic Trust Passion (Passie) Stability Mentality Punctuality (Stiptelikheid) Attitude Discipline Extraordinary Courage Consistent Integrity Happiness Solidarity Persistence Effort Fearless Demolish Aggressive Commitment Boost Success Game Management Explosive
