I must admit, this is a challenging one for me. I have found that my clients whether business owners or nonprofit founders, for the most part struggle just the same. But lately, that is what I have been doing...following up! Something that seems like a simple task but it seems to get pushed back, sometimes to "neverland". I challenge you all and myself to really take the time to think this week about people that have supported you whether monetarily or not. Then decide to contact at least 2 per day. If you email or text them, don't use ai unless you are checking grammar. 🙃 Think about exactly what they did, address it and then thank them. Whatever you don't ASK for anything. Just see who emails or texts you back. If you are one of those that prefer to call, that's even better. Call them up and do the same and don't ASK for anything. Let them reply then respond appropriately. If you can, do this every day for the rest of the week. Now, if you can incorporate it as a daily task...that's even better. This is a skill for donor and client retention. Keeping the support is just as important as gaining new supporters.
