When Visa Refusals Turn Into Agent Losses
Student recruitment agents often carry a risk that few people in the industry openly discuss. Have you ever had a situation where one of your students’ visa applications was refused, but the college delayed or failed to return the tuition fee? In most cases, the student trusts the agent. The agent guided them through the course selection, the application, and the visa process. When the visa is refused, the student naturally expects their money back. But if the institution takes months to process the refund, or refuses it based on technical reasons, the frustration is directed at the agent. Many agents then face a very difficult position. They must protect their reputation, calm the student, and keep pushing the institution for the refund. Sometimes they even use their own money temporarily just to maintain trust with the student. If you are an education agent, this question is worth asking:Have you ever faced this situation with a college or university? Experiences like these are rarely discussed, yet they are one of the real risks agents carry while representing institutions and supporting students.
