Insomnia
Ok, so insomnia is complicated. There are many different types of insomnia according to TCM. And yes, herbs can help, and I will make a separate post on that. But for now, want to share some easy accu points that folks can get started with. Try them for a few minutes and you will feel relaxed. Share your experiences !! - Acupressure on Anmian, HT7, KD1, SP6 - Nightmares: Acupressure on LI11 (pinch up skin a few times a day, 3 times for 10 seconds) https://vimeo.com/398990761?fbclid=IwAR3xSUVncpe93gT3Qkp3DYnQ5bunxmFoRSYROz7E6y1rB0fmSEqfgsyjDb8

Greetings
Greetings new members. I will be hosting a virtual workshop soon on Nervous system harmonisation/regulation (basics of polyvagal theory). The workshop is intended to be educational meaning I will be yapping a bit, but it involves some immersive exercises to sort of "dive a little deep", just a bit. We will end with a QnA. And maybe some breathwork tips. I believe some of these fundamentals will be key for those with complex chronic illnesses such as long covid, fibromylagia, ME/CFS, POTS, chronic lymes etc. I would like to get an idea of those who are interested from this group. (fee will sliding scale 5-20$) Those who cannot afford can dm me seperately.

@Heather Martin Oh hey Heather. Good to see you here too. Hope our session was helpful for you. It would be some of the same stuff but some more exercises this time and breakout room and discussions etc. Would love to have you.
Autumn/Metal phase vibes
Hey all. We are officially entering fall. The Metal element acc to traditional Chinese medicine. The main organs involved are the Lung and Large Intestine. The main emotion represented is grief. I met Alaine Duncan a few years ago during the initial stages of my healing recovery, and brought her book. She writes, "The Metal Element is associated with autumn and the dying of the vitality of the growing season. The air has left late summer’s humidity behind and has become dry, light, and clear. Trees express their full beauty before their leaves make their descent. On the ground, the leaves will now rot and enrich the next growing season by bringing precious trace minerals into the soil. Falling acorns embody rest as both the first and last step of the growing season. The loss of light is tangible. Grief is in the air." This is a good time to get back to a breathing practice if you have not been. As the book says, "The Lungs are one of the two organ systems corresponding with the Metal. They serve life by receiving and dispersing the ā€œpure qi of the heavensā€ to every dimension of our body, mind and spirit. They help us find inspiration and a fresh breath to start anew after a loss. I am also attaching a video of one of my fav teachers Mimi Kuo-Deemer sharing a metal element Qi Gong practice. How are you feeling as fall approaches? or rather what are you feeling? What are you holding? And what are you ready to let go? Would be great to hear from you all. pic is from: The Tao of Trauma by Alaine D. Duncan with Kathy L. Kain

I will be sharing knowledge and wisdom I have learned from my experience as a western medicine trained doctor and then form my lived experience of a severe chronic illness and recovery with holistic methods and indigenous science. Offerings plan to include - Posts about various healing modalities and paradigms ranging from modern neuroscience to yoga and TCM and somatic healing. - Live educational calls where I will teach and discuss about various topics and answer audience Qs - Live Breathwork sessions - And hopefully more with time Feel free to share a little about yourself and how you found yourself here. I plan to launch my own holistic practice and will inform people when that happens. Please be mindful I am unable to give medical advice here. This group is for educational purposes only.
