The Claude family... (chat, cowork & code)
I noticed my conversations with Claude in chat weren't carrying over to Cowork or Code. They're all separate. So I asked about it. Here's the answer I got... sharing in case it saves you time too. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Great question, and your frustration is completely valid — this is a genuine gap in the current product. Let me break it all down clearly. The Three Tools ➡️ Claude Chat (claude.ai) This is where you are right now. It's a conversational interface — you type, Claude responds. It's best for thinking, planning, writing, analysis, and brainstorming. Memory is rich within a conversation but doesn't persist across sessions by default, and the model has no access to your local files unless you explicitly paste content in. Medium ➡️ Claude Code Claude Code is a command-line autonomous agent that operates on your local file system, reads your entire codebase, and performs multi-file coding tasks with deep architectural context. The key difference from Chat is execution: Claude AI produces text, while Claude Code takes action on your actual code. Medium It lives in your terminal (or VS Code/JetBrains plugin). It can read files, run tests, manage git, and edit code directly on your machine. ➡️ Claude Cowork Cowork is the newest tool — it lets people complete non-technical tasks in the same asynchronous way they use Claude Code. It's designed for non-developers who want to automate repetitive file management and cross-application desktop workflows without code. VentureBeat Think bulk file sorting, extracting data from PDFs, managing documents across apps — all from a chat-like interface.

@Mark Townsend this was good too.... for me... yeah AI is not the be all end all
Motivation is a scam.
Not the feeling. The order. Most people think motivation comes first. You wait until you feel ready, inspired, locked in. Then you act. That is backwards. You act first. Motivation follows. Here is what is actually happening in your brain. Every time you take a small step toward something that matters to you, your brain releases dopamine. That chemical does one thing: it tells your brain to do more of that. The reward comes after the action. Not before. This means waiting to feel ready is the one move guaranteed to keep you stuck. You do not need inspiration to start. You need one small action. A five-minute walk. One paragraph written. One email sent. Your brain takes that as a signal and builds from it. I spent years waiting to feel ready to build this movement. BUT.. The motivation came after the first post. After the first conversation. Small wins create momentum. Momentum creates motivation. Motivation sustains action. In that order. The feeling (motivation) is on the other side of the move. How you doooo-ing?
Motivation is a scam.

Inspired by a modern great... If you're building something big, remind yourself that: You have permission to out-earn your upbringing.❤️ Maybe... Sometimes you feel guilty. Guilty for wanting more. Guilty for achieving more. Guilty for having bigger dreams than the people you grew up with. You look at your parents. Your friends. Your circumstances. And something whispers: "Who do you think you are?" That guilt creeps in and quietly stops you from going bigger. Here's the neuroscience: Your brain is wired for belonging. In ancient times, being cast out from your tribe meant death. So your nervous system learned to keep you "safe" by keeping you similar. When you start out-earning, out-growing, out-dreaming your original environment, your brain reads it as danger. Not opportunity. Danger. This is called your "upper limit." Your subconscious has a thermostat set to what feels "normal" based on your upbringing. When you exceed it, your brain pulls you back down. Self-sabotage. Procrastination. Guilt. All protection mechanisms.🆘 But here's the truth: You expanding doesn't shrink anyone else. You succeeding gives others permission to believe it's possible for them too.🔥 You're not betraying your roots by growing. You're becoming the example your roots never had. So yes. You have permission to out-earn your upbringing. Now go build. Happy Monday!

Welcome
Welcome @Darlene Pearson 🥳 Darlene is from a women AI Group we both belong to... So excited to have you here. The way you're blending original photography with AI-assisted design is fascinating, it's exactly the kind of creative + tech fusion that feels so alive right now. Tell us more in the Intro! Everyone check her out: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/darlene.pearson.50 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/darlenepearson LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/darlenepearson Pinterest (haven’t started posting yet, but working on it): https://www.pinterest.com/DJPCreationsandDesigns/ X (Twitter): https://x.com/darlenejpearson Threads: https://www.threads.com/@darlenepearson My site, which includes my digital products, stores, affiliations, and more: https://linktr.ee/djpcreationsdesigns TikTok (not yet really using)https://www.tiktok.com/@darlenepearson65 I love that you're not just using AI but also helping others learn how to use it practically. That's the sweet spot. So many people are still intimidated by it, and having someone who can offer clear guidance (with visual examples!) is such a gift. A few ideas as you settle in (not sure if you already do these): - Share a side-by-side – One of your original photos next to an AI-assisted version. People love seeing the creative process. - Post a "how I made this" – Pick one of your favorite pieces and walk us through the tools and prompts you used. You are building in public and we love that around here!!

I believe ambitious over-thinkers who want profit & freedom should design systems that makes action inevitable not wait for motivation/clarity first.
