What's Your Biggest Win as an Author?
Hello, fellow authors! 👋📚 It's great to be part of this community. I'm always excited to connect with writers, learn about your publishing journey, and discover new books. I'd love to know: 📖 What book are you most proud of publishing, and why? ✨ What's been your biggest challenge as a self-published author—visibility, marketing, reviews, or something else?
My experience.
I ran an experiment to find out what kind of writer AI was. I asked it to write a 'Martha' chapter that would flesh her out. It read my entire novel and wrote an amazing chapter which characterized her perfectly according to what I'd already written about her. AI did this in less than a couple of minutes!!! Then I asked it to write a background Rubin chapter. Same thing. It wrote a very good story about how he had been left at the door of an orphanage because his mother could not abide his deformity. Then I asked it to write a Rubin poem about how his deformity affected his life. It was a very good effort on AI part. I have never used AI to write any portion of my novels. I refuse to do that. But here is the thing. I conducted my own research concerning how easy it is for experts to distinguish AI writing from human writing, and in many instances, the experts got it wrong. They were not able to detect which was 'human' and which was AI. Bottom line: I am abandoning my efforts at writing for the time being. I feel AI is going to take over writing.

@Janice Lang I understand your concerns. AI is improving incredibly fast, but I still believe readers connect with an author's unique voice and personal experiences in a way that's hard to replace.

@Janice Lang I understand where you're coming from. AI is changing the industry, but I still believe readers will always appreciate authentic stories and the unique perspective that only a human author can bring.
