treating the internet like a coffee shop
Just want to share a little reframe I had recently that might help other ppl! So I struggle to be online, and I'll be honest this wasn't something I expected to struggle with so much when stepping into coaching and business. I've always had social media, but I'm realizing now that the way I interact with it on a personal level is very different from what will make me successful on a business level. I use my personal pages to share some highlight-reel updates on my life, keep up with friends/family (recovering lurker), and maybe watch funny reels or scroll here and there. I never spent time in the comments, I never interacted with people I didn't know in real life, and I certainly wasn't being open or vulnerable in any way. I posted what felt safe and left it at that. So I have REALLY struggled with 1- showing up consistently online, 2- interacting with people I don't know (DMs, comments, etc) and 3- sharing more "real" content that isn't just trips/concerts/milestones and being vulnerable about new things I'm up to. The last few weeks I've been stuck in this cycle of knowing what will move the needle online (engaging with humans and sharing openly & honestly), but by the end of the day when I go to do it, I either have no mental/emotional/social battery left or I'm overthinking everything and making it weird by using language that isn't how I speak IRL. I also think my brain just struggles to conceptualize the vastness of the internet - to me its like the deep, dark, scary, open, unexplored ocean lol. SO here is my current solution: I have started to conceptualize the spaces online that I want to engage with as if they are physical places I can show up to in real life. Today I told myself "I am going to go hangout AT the Nursepreneur Lab from 11-12" and something about framing it that way just clicked in my brain. Next time I want to engage with people who are connected to my niche I will say "I am going to go hang at instagram/facebook this afternoon, share a little bit about myself, and see if there's anyone I connect with". I know this probably sounds silly or oversimplified even but I'm telling you its helping my brain and helping me show up πŸ˜‚

I love this reframe, I have been feeling nervous about how I will need to be engaged in online work tasks more consistently then a 12 hr shift where you can clock out. I think it is helpful what you pointed out, both setting up a way to get your mind into the groove but also to have boundaries and not get sucked into the space.
Intro
πŸ„ I'm Val Webb. I am a board certified holistic nurse. Trying to find my niche/offer/style that is truly aligned with my heart soul and passion. πŸ› Love me some Rocket Power, and and SpongeBob SquarePants πŸ›Ό Sounds silly, but trying to find myself to let my true authentic self shine through. My priority is to be true to myself and have the highest integrity.

Right here with ya! I am still working through the course work at NCC but I feel so intimated by the niche question, I see how it is helpful in marketing but I also am nervous to pigeon myself in because I have so many interests & love working across diverse issues.
My Journey from ICU Nursing to Holistic Health + What I’m Teaching Friday
Hi everyone! I’m really excited to be here, especially among nurses who are expanding what healthcare can look like!!🌞🌞 I’m a former travel ICU nurse turned holistic health coach, and one of the main tools I use is Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA). And I’m talking about in the Sandbox Session this Friday!!😱 I was initially drawn to health coaching for the freedom it offers. I’ve lived a pretty nomadic lifestyle (including some van life🚐) and wanted to be able to take my work with me, from wherever. But during my time in the ICU, I also became increasingly frustrated with the gaps in our system. I saw so many patients who knew something was wrong, had been advocating for themselves for months or years, and were repeatedly told everything was β€œnormal” based on bloodwork, I also experienced this myself as a patient. I’m sure you’ve seen this too🫩 That’s what led me into holistic and functional health, where things finally started to make more sense 🀯 Let me know if you relate!! When I discovered HTMA, it completely changed how I look at the body. It can reveal patterns and imbalances often before anything shows up on labs, giving clients something validating and actionable to work with. I now use HTMA as a starting point to create personalized, targeted recommendations so clients aren’t just guessing. ✨This Friday, I’ll be doing a short 20 minute presentation inside the Sandbox Session where I’ll break down πŸ•ΊπŸͺ© - What HTMA is - Why it can reveal what bloodwork misses - How I’m using it in my practice! If you’ve ever felt like labs don’t tell the full story, I think this will give you a completely different way to look at your clients. I’d love to hear- have you ever explored HTMA, had a test done, or considered using it in your practice? And let me know if you’ll be there Friday! Feel free to message me ahead of time if there’s anything specific you’d want me to cover 🌿🌞

Dream job status pending
Hello hello nursepreneur community! Popping in for a little intro of myself and to start getting to know this crew. So little bit about me, I have been a bedside nurse for about 6 years where I began as a Med Surg RN. I am sure as many can relate a crazy time to begin, and although I loved so many of my coworkers & aspects of the position, I dreamed of something different. That brought me to transition into Critical Care nursing, I enjoyed this change of pace but still craved for more. So, what does one do? Obviously, I began travel nursing lol where I traveled to hospitals in California, Maine, and Oklahoma. I traveled with my partner and dog, and we had the time of our lives with the cross countries drives. But as far as work went, I still wasn't in my jam. I began working with a spiritual health & wellness coach and learned so much about myself, my goals, and how I wanted to get there. That is what opened up this world of coaching and how finding out how perfectly this role aligned with my life and dreams. I love working one on one with humans going through life & health transitions, building out the mind set of possibility, and being able to see the change within themselves for the better. I began the Nurse Coach Collective program in December, and have been working my way through the modules and working with clients to build out my skills. It was through this program I met a friend, Joy, who then introduced me to this community. I know I have so much learn and so many questions to answer so just really excited to be entering this community in order to continue to support others & be supported with like minded people. My current biz challenge is narrowing down my "niche" and figuring out the steps to begin my own business. I have moments of so much hope & I can just see this vision coming to life but recently have been feeling in more of a lull (fatigued and overwhelmed) with the steps to come. I would love hear if anyone has or is in the same place?
Health coaching training advice
Hi. Just wondering what training people did to be a health coach Is it necessary to be a board certified coach? Are there alternative ways in depending on your background and experience? Do you need your own indemnity insurance? Recommendations? Advice?

@Trista Barros I totally resonate with this and was in your exact position over the last year, just constantly creating lists and comparing programs. One day I ended up just realizing I want to get the ball moving so I chose Nurse Coach Collective. They were having a good promo that made the course a lot more affordable. Obviously not sure how to compare to other programs but I really appreciate the self pacing of it and have enjoyed starting my practice hours with clients, and appreciate the resources & support that is provided by instructors as well as other nurse coaches.
