Buy anything recently?
I finally received my Final Fantasy booster box that I bought. I got a pretty good deal on it too! Have you bought anything you’ve been excited about recently?

@Jack Slott I’m assuming you mean Kaya the Inexorable 288? I wasn’t able to find one of that other name. TCGplayer is great for finding current prices of cards. For that one looks like it’s around $3. As for grading, I’d recommend not grading any modern magic the gathering cards. It hasn’t really caught on like it has for Pokèmon. I’d estimate the price for a PSA 8 is probably about the same as it is raw.

@Jack Slott no problem :)
Serialized Chocobo listed for $200,000
https://ebay.us/m/9bj3zj 41/77 has been found and listed for $200,000 on eBay!! This is obviously way too high than someone would pay for it, but it’s interesting to see that these chocobos are being found. From what I’ve heard, they’re going for about $30k for a non-premium number.
Final Fantasy Releases on 6/16
There are still some preorders going on for the Final Fantasy set. They’re hovering just below $700 on eBay right now. Also, I was given a discount code that applies $50 off if you pay with Klarna. I think this is given to a bunch of eBay accounts, but I’m not sure. I think this will be either a colossal success or a colossal failure of a set. Either way, I think putting some cash into it is a good idea. If the collectors crash, I would recommend picking MORE up if you have excess cash. I wouldn’t recommend buying the play boxes though. They will be printed continuously. I’m planning on getting a collector box myself later this week. There have been rumors of a “special” FF set coming out later this year kind of similar to how the Lord of the Rings had a special edition. I suspect this set, if true, will be on everybody’s radar considering what happened with the Lord of the Rings Special Edition. It may be over hyped. Don't go all into the hype.

What are you buying?
I recently bought a Dr. Who Collector box for about $350 all in after tax. And some Destined Rivals booster boxes earlier this month. What have you been buying? Leave a comment below ⬇️

Predictions on destined rivals
Reception is extremely positive. This set is often touted as one of the biggest Pokémon TCG sets in recent memory due to its fan-favorite theme (famous trainers and their Pokémon). Collectors are hyped about the Team Rocket and Gym Leader cameos, and there’s a strong nostalgia factor. However, some caution that the preorder prices were “ridiculous” and expect a price drop after release . In the investing community, there’s talk that lots of new people are getting into the hobby around this set, injecting new money into the market. This suggests Destined Rivals could elevate the overall TCG market interest. Projected Future Value: Medium-term, expect a release dip, which might be a buying opportunity if prices fall to more reasonable levels. Long-term, given the caliber of cards (Mewtwo, Cynthia, etc.), future value is promising. If print runs remain moderate, sealed boxes and singles should appreciate as the set gains “modern classic” status. Essentially, Destined Rivals checks all the boxes for a collectible winner: beloved characters, powerful chase cards, and initial low supply (evidenced by $250+ booster preorders). Barring an overwhelming reprint, the outlook is that Destined Rivals will age well, much like past sought-after expansions (e.g. sets featuring Charizard or other popular characters have historically done very well over time).
