Notes Reality Check
There’s no shortage of advice about how often to post Notes. But I’d rather hear from people actually using the platform. What’s your current Notes cadence? And have you noticed any difference when you post more often versus less often?

@Pinkie AI Meets Girlboss in the weeks following the launch in March, I noticed a massive drop. Whenever that happens, I do what I call a notes reset, and I completely stop posting notes for a few days. Then I go back online. That seems to fix it about 80% of the time.

@Pinkie AI Meets Girlboss The Substack algorithm isn’t as complex as people think it is. Most of the advice out there is not correct. I’m going to be building a course a Notes very soon.
What’s the real reason you haven’t monetized more aggressively yet?
No judgment. I’m curious what the roadblock is. Is it: - Audience size? - Offer confusion? - Fear of charging? - Not knowing what to sell? - Not wanting to sound too salesy? - Something else? - Reply with the honest version. Those answers will shape what I create here.

@Linda Wolf you’re getting there. What is your first digital product? And what is the sticking point?

Hi Linda, have you considered Gumroad?
What’s working for you on Substack?
What is one thing you’ve done on Substack that helped you grow, sell, or connect with readers? It doesn’t have to be fancy. It could be a Note, a welcome email tweak, a paid offer, a comment you left, a pricing experiment, or one sentence that finally made your work click for someone. Drop your “small but mighty” move below. Then test someone else's small move and see if it makes an impact.

I'll go first.I added a "Start Here" page to my Substack home page navigation bar. I broke down all the different ways people can work with me based on the stage they're at in their Substack journey. I kept getting messages from people who were not sure about which program they should take first. This page solve that problem. Now if somebody asks, I just point them to the page. It's magic.
I quit my 9-5. Substack gets most of the credit
Hey everyone. Good to be here. I'm Derek, a writer and creator based in Manchester. I run the Irresistible Writer which delivers practical writing tools to paid subscribers every week. I came to this the way most people do. Writing on the side, posting into silence, not entirely sure I hadn't missed my window. I kept going anyway. Now I run paid cohorts and live masterclasses, and earns enough that I handed in my notice. That part still catches me off guard when I think about it. The thing I'm probably most proud of sits outside the subscriber count. I landed paid commissions from national magazines and got radio work, without a platform, without contacts, just by understanding how to pitch. I've since built a programme teaching exactly that. Writing, for me, has always been the engine. Every piece you publish is a small asset. It finds people, builds trust, opens doors you didn't know existed. That's what I'm here to talk about. Looking forward to learning from everyone here.

Welcome, Derek! I think we started on Substack around the same time and I’ve really loved seeing you grow and I love what you’re doing! What I didn’t know it is all the success you’ve had with magazine and radio work. That’s fantastic and congratulations on that!
