Hello! I'm Carrie. I'm a psych NP & work for the VA in Albuquerque, NM. I am in that special spot between my kids being mostly launched and my parents not quite needing me - or more accurately - they aren't needing me at present - so I've made the decision to do this for myself. I want and need to live more in the present, more intentionally, and am not quite sure how to make space for it in my life and how to make the practice stick. I have done some meditation classes / weekends before and LOVED them and could see the benefit, but once I got back to "real life", I wasn't able to maintain it. I had just made the decision that I needed to make a change and new habits, So I'm very excited to be here with you, and am very grateful to have found Aaron via a mutual friend in a random fashion just a few days before the class was to begin. Just falling effortlessly into place as it was supposed to happen.

Hello all! Life sort of went off the rails (way off) starting last Thursday, and I forgot all about meditating. 😱 Looking through my calendar here at work, I saw I have our class time blocked out and suddenly remembered! Feeling super inadequate and annoyed with myself. I've now done some exploring on here, am impressed with you all, and am honored & grateful to be sharing this experience with you. I just did The Breath and honestly felt mostly restless & scattered, but that's bc of of the above. I just kept bringing myself back into awareness of my body (breath and uncomfortable work chair) and am proud of myself for starting. Look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday.
